There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Hi Шуйская edit

You already have one multiple note on the page, where it says "<ref name="архив">[http://www.rusarchives.ru/central state archive of St Petersburg/cgiaspb/]</ref> that begins the multiple reference. It becomes 'a' then each time you put <ref name="архив"/> by itself, with nothing else, then that becomes another letter. If you place five times <ref name="архив"/> then it becomes a b c d e f the five times are b c d e f and the first one, the long one, is 'a' Penyulap 11:42, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. This is very clear, Шуйская (talk) 21:42, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
you're welcome. I'm glad I could help. Penyulap 22:00, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but I need your help again. I've done notes as you told me: e.g. for "a" [1] , for "b..." [1] but it was not right again: Cite error: Invalid tag: refs with no content must have a name. Would you please tell me what is my problem? Thank you Penyulap 00:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
I will have a look now. Penyulap 00:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm, This is a good one, I can't see the problem yet, I'll re-open that village pump enquiry as well as seek assistance from some of the wizards I know. Penyulap 00:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've asked about it, and the reference templates don't work the same on commons as they do on other wikipedias. I suggest saving it onto a user sub-page on another wikipedia to test it. You'll need to find someone who likes this kind of subject to check it for you and see if it is notable enough to use as an article. Wikipedias are too narrow generally to include everything, or at least the WMF wikipedias are. There are other wikipedias that welcome content like this without the hassle and headache of notability. Penyulap 02:28, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am surprised and delighted that you've got those templates to work, you're smarter than me on that one. If you need anything else, do let me know. Penyulap 08:20, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Thank you so much for your compliment on my success at sorting out my problem and else for your offer to help me next time. Шуйская (talk) 23:10, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

The one you want is not information, it will probably be infobox, or one of the many that are like that. information is just for images and is inserted automatically on that page. Infobox is a whole class of boxes people write. there are customised types for each kind of article and you'd probably need one for biographies or vocalists, go to the local wiki, look at a biography of a person in a similar field with similar career and find one you like that way. The categories at the bottom of the article would lead you to many examples of the article, so you pick something you like that way, same once you get to the template page. You look at the name of the template in use like {{Greatsingersbox|name=Jack Mellowtones|born=1901}} then goto template:Greatsingersbox (an example that doesn't exist) look at the categories at the bottom of the template page and it shows lots of them, from there you look at examples of it's use through 'what links here' in the toolbox. Penyulap 07:56, 20 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Шуйская.

Here is Infobox artist, though even I don't know how to get it to work proper, maybe the examples in use are best to copy. Penyulap 08:06, 20 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

for the filename of the image, leave off everything when putting it into the box, |image =[[File:Shuisky Michael.jpg|thumb|left|Shuisky Michael|]] will become |image = Shuisky Michael.jpg another thing to watch out for is the number of '{{' and '}}' they have to be equal, each opeing has a close, and sometimes they can go inside each other, but often they can't. Try it without nesting them first to see if it works.
if the parameter (a parameter is 'name' 'image' 'gender' 'nationality' 'occupation1' 'father' and so on) doesn't exist in the template, then it won't work, but you can copy the code from the template page and modify it. The template code has a lot of things in it, I see that it changes according to if it is a man or a woman, and does different labels for each language. You can simplify the template when you copy it across, or write up some kind of a table in one language. Look to a page here I think it is maybe faster to learn and write. Penyulap 09:08, 20 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I notice you type ~~~~ into the edit summary box under the edit window, but you never need to do that. Penyulap 09:52, 20 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Wow ! impressive work ! you learn how to do the tables fast. :)
I notice that all the headings are in uppercase, but I don't often see that for biographies. Penyulap 09:34, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I wondered how the image would look in colour and then I wondered how he'd look in the opera house. Penyulap 10:37, 23 April 2013 (UTC) {{Helpme}} DEAR PENYULAP, Thank you for your compliment. I impressed how the image looks like with colour and interior. This is AWESOME!!! But, are you sure we are allowed to do that? This will be wonderful! I think, I nearly finished the page, would you please check it, do I need to do something else? Шуйская (talk)Reply

Oh sure, we can add things to the image, actually, it was reading what you've written about him that helped me choose the appropriate background of the appropriate venue, somewhere he probably performed. I'm not sure if his coat was red, but given the kind of costume, a bright colour is indicated, so I went with red (hey do you want a different colour ?). Here is a change I did before,

there was a big piece
of black tape or
something from the archives
ruining the image,
  someone wanted it removed
at the Graphics lab
  So I reconstructed
the image after a
bit of study
about the ship.
It's just made-up.

Like, I wouldn't put him in a bathing suit unless he did a lot of swimming and won races, and although I could make him an astronaut, that wouldn't be allowed for an article, but like this is just fine. Actually, I was worried you wouldn't like it, that you'd think it was no good, I am glad that you do like it, you can print it and put it on the wall :) I think he is photogenic, the other image with the conical hat and the look on his face is quite funny, I like that one.

I will look over the article, but I'm no expert, I am not sure who is, but you could ask my friend User talk:Montanabw, they might point you in the direction of someone who does biographies, I think they've done some good or featured articles before.. Penyulap 10:26, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Actually, as soon as it is copied onto English wikipedia, which is where you can put it because it's in English, all sorts of people will start helping, changing around the text and making it look just like the other biographies there, that might make the workload for the expert friends a bit lighter, if lots of other people have a go first. Penyulap 10:32, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Some feedback edit

I asked my friend PumpkinSky about the article here at the bottom of this section. They said "Hi. It's got potential, but there are several issues: it's on commons which is not for articles, format is all wrong--such as one line paragraphs and all caps, some paragraphs are just lists, needs more refs, etc. For a first shot it's good."

I hope this helps ! So where there are a lot of simple sentences with dates then I would consider the exact dates to be less important, and merge the sentences together and into full paragraphs by saying "late in 1918 he did a, b as well as c and d", Just how I might do it. I do some nice writing sometimes, mostly when an article is completely wrong, that inspires me. Penyulap 03:37, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

{{Helpme}} Hi, would you please check the article at this stage of development. I do not understand why the references 3,16 and 24 are not visible? Would you please explain me how can I apply references to my current page by using other wikipedia? Thank you.Шуйская (talk) 04:20, 3 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, there is the capital letters for titles, like BIOGRAPHY rather than Biography, for the references I do not know if it is the differences between commons and other wikipedias that causes problems, INeverCry said the templates do not match up, so I suggest if you copy it to your en.wiki sandbox here and then take a look it may be different, I don't know. You can try there, to change the infobox. The infobox that didn't work here may work there. The templates on en.wiki work in sandboxes there. Penyulap 02:14, 4 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for your advise, but I already solved problem with references. I'm so happy about that!Шуйская (talk) 03:17, 4 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

{{Helpme}} Hi,would you please check my article and transfer it to Wikipedia. Thank you. Шуйская (talk) 23:13, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

actually it's easy for you to do, first copy it to your userpage there same as here by opening your article for editing, then click Ctrl-A (to select all of your text) and then Ctrl-C (to copy it) then go here and Ctrl-V (to paste it) ...that will copy it to en.wiki on your userpage same as here. Then add {{subst:submit}} to the top of the article and save it to submit it as an article. Penyulap 23:58, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

{{Helpme}} Hi, would you please tell me why my article is in Wikimedia stage still? Kind regards, Шуйская (talk) 22:29, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
