Quality images

Hello Donald: Just wondering why you recently have declined the picture

as a quality image. This a sample picture from Quality Images page.

Here[1] is the link to that Quality Iamges page. If you think the picture I nominated is blurred, what about this picture? The picture is about flower. Which part of the flower do you want to see very clearly?

The image "Kiss me quickly" is definitively unsharp because of the small DoF (Large aperture). And it is noisy. Why did you use ISO200? You could go to 100. The second image is really good. By the way, why did you change the nomination? --donald- 20:39, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

QIC move to -> /candidate list

Is there any useful reason you made this change? It stuffs up the links to the templates used on that page so that when you're editing nominations you end up with a messed up preview etc - all in all a right pain. I'll wait a while before reverting it in case you're still editing and have some way of fixing the problem. --Tony Wills 11:12, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Schreibfehler in Textbeispiel "Sütterlinschrift"

Hallo Donald, du hast am 30. September 2008 die Abbildung “Sütterlinschrift.svg” mit einem Textbeispiel in der Sütterlinschrift erstellt. Leider enthält sie in der achten Zeile einen Schreibfehler: “Kurrnetschrift” statt “Kurrentschrift”. Kannst du das bitte korrigieren?
