When I deleted those images it didn't had any source information, license or author information.

If you want I can undelete it and you can fix it, or you upload it again..

That's strange. Those maps were two years old and only three of some dozens of maps. They are "handmade" and not just zoomed copies of existing maps, so there should be no licence problems. Please restore the three, so I can find out what went wrong there. I don't want to make the same mistake again, because I want to to upload some more maps in the future. Thanks a lot. Are you sure, you restored all available versions? The upload is missing in the history. It ought to look like this. And in the section File history on the file page you can see the version of 20 May 2007 with the correct comment (info & license). Perhaps a system hiccup swallowing license and history?

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

There must be some sort of misunderstanding. We own this logo and want to use it on our wikipedia page. I must have misunderstood and chose the wrong designation when uploading the file. I also received a note that logos are to be uploaded to the English main site, however, when I attempted that, I was directed to put it on the Commons.

Please point out the error so we can get this up and active.

When you say you have permission its not enough. The permission you have received should be forwarder to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). The people who volunteer in the OTRS team will try to verify the permission and when its al alright you get a respond back. When al is done you will receive a ticket number. When you request undeletion with that number a administrator will undelete the image.

Or you can skip this and do:

Special:Upload. Than you will upload it locally and that Wikipedia and can it only be used on that Wikipedia. If its for a other project please paste Special:Upload in the search field. For uploading on English Wikipedia you have to become auto confirmed first, that means you need to do 10 edits before you can upload.

Hoi Abigor,

op mijn overlegpagina staat dat ik je altijd kan contacteren als ik een vraag heb wel , dat is dus het geval. Ik ben nog een beetje nieuw met wikipedia en ik vroeg me af hoe kan ik het zien als iemand iets op mijn overlegpagina zet want nu krijg ik steeds de typische pagina met de verschillende knoppen , de zandbak , de vijf pijlers van ...

Als je een nieuw bericht krijg op je overlegpagina (Ik zal er zo eentje neerzetten) dan krijg je een oranje/gele balk te zien met de mededeling dat je een nieuw bericht hebt op je overlegpagina.

Deze balk blijft staan totdat je je overlegpagina hebt bekeken, dus je kan hem niet over je hoofd zien. Tevens krijg je als je je email adres hebt ingevuld bij het registreren ook een emailtje met daarin het bericht dat je een nieuw bericht hebt.

Beste Abigor, vervelend van het ongeluk. Wel wil ik je vragen het stuk VanDeKaart na aanpassing nog eens door te nemen. Ik zie niet waarom deze pagina in deze vorm verwijder zou moeten worden dus verwacht iets meer motivatie dan Weg, niet encyclopedisch mvg Bergshoeff

Hoi Huib, heb je nog een reactie op mijn vraag op m'n overlegpagina? In elk geval heb ik het geprobeerd met Upload op Commons, maar dat lukte niet zonder in te loggen. Ik had hem gisteren gezien maar nog geen tijd gehad om hem te beantwoorden. Als het goed is kan jij tegenwoordig gewoon inloggen met je gebruikersnaam Apdency en wachtwoord op alle Wikipedia projecten zonder daarvoor je je eigen weer te moeten registreren.

Als dit nog niet werkt kan je het beste even lezen op Sul hoe je sul kan activeren, vanaf dat moment kan je op alle wikimedia projecten inloggen zonder je opnieuw te moeten inloggen en dus ook gewoon op Commons kunnen uploaden onder je eigen naam.

Hi Abigor, I took the freedom to undelete this logo which was tagged and deleted by you. The uploader filed an undeletion request which was just closed by me. I think that {{PD-textlogo}} applies, i.e. I do not think that this logo is eligible for copyright. Please open a regular deletion request for it if you think that I am wrong. The uploader claimed indeed copyright but that alone does not make it eligible for copyright. I did not want to change his statement and I still think that it is best to resolve this through a regular deletion request. This would give the uploader the opportunity to either accept my opinion or to put this logo under a free license along with an OTRS confirmation. Thanks for telling me that you undeleted the file but I am affraid I will make a deletion request again because I don't think it's to simple for copyright. (It will take more than 20 minutes to recreate the image in Photoshop and there is a logo in the logo.) but I think when there is a discussion we should always use a dr. Please do, I also think this particular representation is eligible for copyright. Someone making a copy from scratch could license it under a free license, because the essential features of the logo are ineligible, but the details of this exact instance can be protected. –Tryphon^☂ 08:12, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Please open a deletion request and I have absolutely no problem with that. I think that complex cases like this are best handled within a DR. This gives the opportunity to invite more opinions whether this is eligible for copyright or not (this is certainly a border case where you get easily different opinions but I do not think that the amount of time you'll need to recreate this image concerns us in this discussion, think about {{PD-art}} where a reproduction might require significant skill and time; we need to focus on originality). If not obvious, or if more discussion would be valuable, these should be left until at least seven days have elapsed. If it is a standard practice here ignore my message.
