You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.

To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.

KPK map edit

Hello Adil

With refrence to subject map you are edit warring with me. I respect you as Pakistani. Your map tries to favor Pashtuns. Pashtuns are definatly Pakistani and I respect them but your map is against the historic indeginous population of non pashtun regions such as Hazara, Kohistan (Inclusing swat kohistan), Chitral, DI khan and old City centrals of (Peshawer, Kohat, Noshera). Although in recent few years there is inflow of Pashtuns from FATA afghanistan or KPK pashtun districts to these regions but still they are minority in these regions and are non locals.

My map is based on linguistic work of Grierson, Shackle, Nataliia Ivanovna Tolstaia, Lambert M Surhone, Mariam T Tennoe, Susan F Henssonow so please do not spoil pakistan image for sake of pashtun nationalism. Thanks. Maria0333 (talk) 13:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am not your brother because I am girl. What is source of your map ? It is your individual opinion as you said of my talk page.

Individual opinion is not what wikipedia regognize. It is lingusitc work and Pakistan national Census 1998 which says;

1. Hazara is 80% Hindko and others are 20% =Gujri+ Kohistani+ Pashto+ Other Pakistani languages.

2. In kohistan region of hazara + swat Kohistani languages (Miaya dialect /kalami dialect etc) are spoken by 90%.

3. In DI khan and Tank saraiki is majiority.

4.Chitral is khowar majiority = 80%.

5. Many villages in Kohat, Peshwer, Noshera districts plus old city areas of Kohat Peshawer and Noshera are also hindko speaking. In recent few years due to tribal and afghan migrations these districts are now pashtun majiority. I have shown only small areas of these districts as Hindko ignoring historical position of hindko dominance.

You as an individual can not assess million of population. Only census and linguistic work tells that Chitral Tank DI khan Kohistan Hazara are NOT PASHTUN AREAS. History of these regions also tells the same story. Maria0333 (talk) 17:10, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

After Pakistan National census 1998 there was no official census. so how can anyone claim the demographic has totally changed unless a new census confirms that. Remeber Afghan refugees are not Pakistani citizen so there count is zero for KPK Pakistan. what if I say all KPK is Sindhi speaker? Personal opinion are nothing for wikipedia unless a new census confirms new percentages. You said your map is based on new international research work. Can you please name that research work so that everone can check your refrences?
