Sorry - to be more helpful look here. The section heading has "lost" the info on the image name. After reverting your edit it is now ok again (see here).

J'avoue que je ne m'étais pas posé la question. en:Template:iw existait déjà, donc je ne pensais pas prendre de risque. Ce code n'est attribué à aucune langue dans w:ISO 639 (apparemment, c'est l'ancien code de l'Hébreu, mais on utilise maintenant he). Je vais demander d'autres avis sur la Village Pump. Copyright violation at french wikipedia

I recentl knew about this file uploaded locally at french wikipedia, because it was tried to be moved here. It mentions a source that mentions a copyright notice at the bottom, so the image is a copyvio at both projects. I marked it as such here, but I don't know french so I don't know how to mark that image as a copyvio or to find and talk to local administrators. I have chosen you from the list of administrators by status at other projects, where I noticed you are administrator there as well. Could you delete that file? All the message templates should be subst'ed because this forces a new section to be created on the user talk page where the template is added, making it easier for the user to reply on the right place. This also is intended to harmonize the usage of all the message templates :)

Hi, I see you're working on the UserMessages gadget. Could you, by chance, integrate this template in it, if it is properly internationalized/harmonized/whatever? I use it a lot and everytime I must add, by hand, {{subst:no fair use|File:filename.jpg}}--~~~~ to the talk page (it generates a header). Note bien que {{subst:no fair use|File:filename.jpg}} est maintenant automatiquement traduit dans la langue de l'interface de l'utilisateur qui le lit, donc normalement pas besoin de spécifier un langage. Blason creation

I have a new task for you, being administrator of the french wikipedia. The image File:Blason-Alsace.jpg says it comes from that project, but there's no information on the specific user that created it, or the date. I asume that file was this one, with the same name, because there is a deleted image in the registry that was deleted for being available here on Commons. It would be needed to check the user and date and fill them in the image here, so it has correct source information. I have also placed the code for the correct licence tag for helping, you just need to fill the username and remove the "nowiki" and the current obsolete tag

Hi, it appears that the uploader of the first image on French Wikipedia is no longer active since september 2008 and did not provide author and date information about the coat of arms. He even did not specify if he was himself the author of this image. Then I think the deletion of the two images (both on Commons and on WP:fr) was inevitable...

Templates

Hi, please remember to put the <noinclude> tag on the last line of the templates code. For example:

This has been causing many issues with user message templates. By adding an unnecessary carriage return to the template it causes anything after the template (i.e. the signature) to be preformatted (same as putting it in <pre> tags). Don't ask me why, but it does. Also, you should only add a {{Must be substituted}} for templates that really must be substituted in order to work correctly. User templates should be (that's why I made {{Should be substituted}}), but now that they are autotranslated, it defeats the whole purpose (which was to stop the text from changing after you say it - and update to the template shouldn't change someone else's words). About the "must be substituted"/"should...": I think that all the message templates that create a new section on a talk page must really be subst'ed in order to create the new section. For the others, you're right, there's no need to be substed and I'll remove the "must..." message on the template pages.

When message templates are autotranslated, they do not need any more to be substed if they do not create a new section on the user page. This is because even if you substitute them, you'll just get the autotranslation template call instead, which do not ensure you that the wording of the template won't change in the future.

Your message make me think that I should document this on Commons:Template_i18n/User_templates too.

Possible copyvios, help requested

I see you've had some interaction with User:Brestois029200. My French is poor, or I'd take this on myself. It seems very unlikely to me that File:Carte-bellevue.JPG is, as claimed, his own work; I have my doubts about File:Photokerbernier.jpg and File:ChantierB2.jpg as well. All of these look like poor reproductions of very professional work, an unlikely situation for uploading one's own work. Could I prevail upon you to follow up? The first message I sent to User:Brestois029200 was about the previous warnings that were left to him by various contributors. I tried to explain him which kind of material he was able to ulpoad here, and how to provide us with the needed authorizations. Unfortunately, he didn't answer to me... I'll drop him a reminder, but I think that you already should tag the images as propable copyvios. If he doesn't move before the end of the month, we'll then delete the images.

Je suis PHILTHEGUNNER60 sur WIKIPEDIA- J'ai été banni par Darkoneko ( cfr ma page utilisateur pour les motifs : un A majuscule dans un titre ( authentique ! ). Tout contributeur suspendu a droit en principe à l'accès à sa page disc pour défendre son pt de vue vs les admin. Moi pas ! Et comme par hasard, les admin impliqués ds l'affaire sont injoignables par mail ! Donc je vous prie de bien vouloir faire passer le message à MM Darkoneko, TigH, Moez et consorts : j'ai une autre adresse mail donc ou on restaure mon accès à ma page discussion ou .... il pourrait bien y avoir un avatar PHILTHEGUNNER61 sous peu ! Bien à vous ( et sans aucune animosité à votre égard puisque je ne vous demande que de faire suivre - Allez vraiment voir ma page discussion, cette histoire de A majuscule dans Histoire de l'Aéronavale impériale japonaise est proprement surréaliste !! 4 le site/forum wikia que j'avais créé a été vandalisé par un wikihacker le jour même de mon exclusion. Comme par hasard, mes prog de protection ont neutralisé une tentative d'incendie de mes programmes au même moment ! Ce n'est plus du vandalisme wikipédien ça, c'est de la criminalité de droit commun donc .. je vais évidement montrer tout cela à la police et demander conseil quant à la possibilité d'une plainte ( provisoirement contre X ensuite ... ). S'il s'avère que a resp civile ou pénale de wiki foundation doit être mises en cause .... ( il semble qu'elle cautionne ce genre de comportement puisque mes plaintes pour vandalisme et insulte auprès des admin sont restées sans suite)

5 bien entendu, des liens entre ces pages et des forums antiwik ont été établis : il y a maintenant un reality-show façon Koh-lanta "la vie des wikiadmin" sur le net ( les coulisses de la Guépéou comme si vous y étiez )- fascinante étude anthropologique plus passionnante qu'une expo coloniale avec ses indécentes expositions d'indigènes! Plus besoin que ces gens-là fassent de la propagande anti-wik : ces gens-ci la font eux-mêmes ! Trop MdR !

The reason behind deleting this photos are wrong titles of the image files. The names of uploaded files are wrong and the main reason is mislabelling of them, which may cause confusion to polish guests visiting the site. However, I'm also not satisfied with the overall look of the framing and lighting and unfortunatly i'm not able to take any better pics of presented objects and recreate that precised shots. I would be very grateful for removing them enterly from the album.

Template Occupation and CountryAdjective translation

Hello AlNo, I see that you are engaged in template translation. Could you also translate the templates {{Occupation}} and {{CountryAdjective}} into French? This would be great! The two templates are very useful, they are used (through other templates: {{NationAndOccupation}} and {{BioGalleryInfo}}) for the automatic translation of descriptive phrases in {{Creator}} templates and on gallery pages. They will become even more useful if we get more translations.

If you can translate the templates you may want to take a look at the Spanish versions {{Occupation/es}} and {{CountryAdjective/es}} which already contain the code necessary for the difference between masculine and feminine forms of occupation names and country adjectives; so the Spanish versions may be some kind of help for the French translation, too.

Both templates are rather long, especially {{CountryAdjective}}. But it would be a great help even if you could translate just the most common entries. Thank you very much, --Aristeas (talk) 18:13, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons is by no means a userfriendly system. My only goal is to use images to illustrate the subject of the articel in question so a wider public for this subject can be reached in The Netherlands :

You're also right: Commons is not an easy playground because we focus on releasing copyright-free images and files. I see that you've been given some useful pointers about licensing. What could I add to this is: the better way to get freely reusable images is to make them yourself :-) Of course this won't help in some areas but sometimes you'll find people asking you to take this or that picture they cannot gather themselves...

Maybe I was wrong, but I just tried to maintain all the /layout and /lang subtemplates harmonized, even if this implies to update manually from time to time (I hope this one won't be a lot of additional work for us, thanks to {{subst:ll}} :).

Actually, I'd really prefer too that we could use {{Lang links}} everywhere, but when we tried to switch to that system a few months ago, we were speedily reverted because such a large automation would have put a big strain on the servers (there is also a parser limitation, as described on {{Lang links}}). I'm perfectly aware that in the present case, there is not much implications with server's performances (for the moment) :) The aim of my edit was more to provide a unique presentation for all the templates, so that a newcomer willing to add translations would not be lost in different systems for the language lists...

It's not how heavily used it is but if it's used on pages that have or can have many of templates (like file pages). Anyway, updating them isn't a big deal since it's really easy now like you said. Bloquage sur WP

Salut,

suite à une erreur honteuse (usage abusif d'un faux-nez pour avoir une chance de devenir admin. Je sais, c'est totalement stupide de ma part...) sur WP, j'ai fait l'objet d'un bloquage (faux nez jusqu'à demain matin, mon vrai compte jusqu'à dimanche matin et adresse IP de façon permanente). Un admistrateur m'a demandé de retiré ma candidature, ce que je n'ai pas pu faire puisque j'étais en déplacement (il m'a laissé deux heures pour le faire !). Du tout, il m'a bloqué. Restant incapable de les joindre sur WP (même par mail) je me tourne vers toi, puisque tu es joinable sur Commons. J'ai demandé mon débloquage en justifiant mon manque de réponse. Mon débloquage a été refusé. Argument de l'admin : "tu attend". Ce n'est pas ce que j'appelle une justification, ni un concensus. Mon blocage a été injuste (selon moi). Je veux bien resté bloqué, mais pas dans ces conditions. Pourrais-tu essayer de voir pourquoi tes collègues refusent de me débloquer, et/ou pourquoi ils refusent de se justifier ? Merci. D'accord, l'usage abusif d'un faux-nez n'est pas légal, mais étant mon seul faux pas depuis 2006 (date de mon inscription) une simple demande aurait suffit. Je suis également prêt à faire mes excuses aux users concernés.

Demande de déblocage

J’ai découvert avec une certaine stupéfaction, pour ne pas dire une stupéfaction certaine, que j’ai été bloqué un mois (pas moins !) et sans aucun avertissement par le dénommé Dereckson qui n’a pas supporté que je corrige récemment une faute stupide mais très répandue - « en Avignon » au lieu de « à Avignon » - faute tellement répandue qu’il se trouve même des gens pour croire que « en Avignon » est la seule tournure correcte.

Il justifie mon blocage par des reproches qui m’ont été adressés en 2010 sur Wikipédia en français. Sans doute faudrait-il lui rappeler que nous sommes en 2013. De plus, depuis 2010, j’ai tenu compte des critiques de l’époque, ce qui explique qu’il n’y en a plus eu depuis.

Il affirme que ma ma page de discussion sur Wikipedia en français comporte plusieurs plaintes à propos de ce en Avignon / à Avignon. Il lui aurait suffi de lire attentivement les « plaintes » pour constater que ce n’étaient pas des plaintes mais des interrogations sur le motif de la correction ; qu’après explication mes interlocuteurs avaient admis que j’avais raison ; que si effectivement, il y a eu un litige avec un autre utilisateur, c’est parce que j’avais corrigé plusieurs « en Avignon » corrects (car cette tournure n’est pas forcément incorrecte) et qu’après discussion, nous étions tombés d’accord.

Il me reproche mon pseudo : attaque ad hominem.

Je me serais engagé dans une guerre d’édition : ([e.g. http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Promo_008.jpg&action=history]). Si Dereckson avait lu l’historique de l’article, il aurait constaté qu’au contraire, quand je me suis rendu compte que cela tournait à la guerre d’édition, j’y ai mis fin en donnant des explications complètes, à la fois sur la page de discussion de l’article en cause, et sur la page de discussion de mon interlocuteur, explications qui ont fait que celui-ci a cessé de « corriger » mes corrections.

Sur ma manière de répondre, voir ci-dessus.

Je ne prendrais pas en compte les conseils qui me sont donnés. Dereckson peut-il citer les conseils qui m’ont été donnés ? Hormis le message d’accueil, le message de Dereckson, suite au blocage, est le premier que je reçois !

Enfin, j’inonderais les pages de discussion avec des arguments « sans aucun sens ». Je vous suggère donc de lire une seule d’entre elles (toutes les autres sont identiques) afin de vous faire votre propre idée sur ces « non-sense arguments ».

Pour toutes ces raison, et devant l’inanité des motifs de mon blocage, je demande mon déblocage. Mon adresse IP actuelle est 84.246.217.25 et mon identifiant de blocage est 117876. (La procédure veut que l’on précise ces indications dans toutes les requêtes de déblocage.) Je vous remercie par avance.

PS : Sur la page d’explication qui s’ouvre lorsque l’on veut modifier un article, la procédure de demande de déblocage est indiquée : il faut s’adresser à un administrateur. Et là, surprise : un utilisateur bloqué ne pouvant modifier une page de discussion, il ne peut donc pas demander son déblocage ! C’est pourquoi j’adresse ma demande sous IP, depuis mon téléphone.

Pour le cas où Dereckson, piquerait une nouvelle crise en voyant une nouvelle correction de faute d’orthographe effectuée par moi, pouvez-vous m’indiquer comment il faut[] s’y prendre pour demander un déblocage ?

Demande de déblocage puis de suppression de compte

Bonsoir,

Suite à une requête en suppression d'une image que je pense être une image de presse usurpée, j'ai été prise à parti puis, vu que je persistais à douter de la sincérité de cette image, j'ai été bloquée. Mon adresse IP, indiquée dans la procédure de déblocage est la suivante : 83.204.212.105 ; mon IP actuelle : 90.2.103.19 (non indiquée dans la procédure puisque si je me connecte avec, elle sera automatiquement bloquée) ; enfin, mon identifiant de blocage est 124381. J'écris actuellement depuis une connexion mobile. A défaut je ne pourrais vous adresser aucun message puisque tout m'est devenu interdit...

Je vous indique que mon petit ami (Holen-mor), se connectant donc forcément depuis le même ordinateur que moi, a aussi été bloqué au motif de faux-nez et vandalisme.

J'estime qu'il est inconcevable d'être traitée ainsi et muselée de la sorte au moindre désaccord. Je pense également qu'il est inadmissible que des fichiers douteux soient légitimés par l'opération de copineries, comme c'est ici le cas. Pour cette raison je ne peux ni ne veux continuer à cautionner des agissements délinquants, et il est hors de question que mes contributions continuent à demeurer sur un site qui méconnait autant les droits liés aux images.

Aussi je vous demande gracieusement :

1 - de débloquer mon compte afin que je puisse ouvrir les requêtes en suppression sur mes fichiers téléversés ; à défaut de procéder vous-mêmes et sans délais à ces suppressions.

2 - de supprimer définitivement mon compte tout en veillant à ce que celui-ci ne puisse être recréé ; ma volonté est de disparaite totalement de ce site qui enfreint sciemment les lois.

A titre subsidiaire, j'estime également être en mesure de solliciter des sanctions exemplaires à l'encontre des administrateurs m'ayant abusivement bloquée pour mieux me faire taire. Ceci d'autant que je ne me suis pas rendue coupable de vandalisme. Le vandalisme tenant plutôt dans l'obstination à défaire, clore et dénaturer systématiquement mes interventions, requêtes et arguments. Néanmoins cette demande demeure facultative, puisque subsidiaire... Au fond, la roue tourne toujours et la vérité finit forcément par éclater un jour. Donc je ne m'en fait pas trop pour l'avenir des concernés.

Droits d'auteurs

Bonjour, je voudrais supprimer certains de mes fichiers car j'ai enfreint sans le vouloir les droits d'auteurs:

• File:Superhot-logo.png dans les deux dernières versions, la plus récente est un doublon de la première et la seconde enfreint le droit d'auteur et le seuil d'originalité
• File:Cassie Cage Cosplay.jpg car même si l'auteur m'a vaguement donné son accord, je pense que ce n'est pas suffisant. En tout cas d'autres images de DeviantArt ont étés supprimés comme cela

Dans ce cas effectivement il n'y a pas besoin de débat, le plus simple reste d'apposer le modèle {{Speedydelete}} en indiquant comme raison que c'est votre souhait en tant que personne ayant déposé l'image :

J'ai du coup supprimé les deux images comme vous le demandiez.

Thank you for reviewing and correcting my rough translations of pages like Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Algeria. My command of French is from perfect, but since these pages are mostly a combination of boilerplate and copy-paste from the laws, I think I can add value by completing the first cuts of the pages with laws in French. Most of them are done already. I will try to remember to follow the French style for placing footnote references before the period at the end of each sentence. A question: When translating, I find annotations like ^{[69/2014 Art 3(ii)]} useful, because they show where to look for the original text. But annotations like <ref name=Act2014/> seem to be distracting to translators, so I tend to cut them out of the end of a translation unit. The result, of course, is to break the punctuation rule:

WIPO holds Law No. 491 in their [[:en:WIPO Lex|WIPO Lex]] database.</translate><ref name=Law2006/><translate>

will be translated as:

L'OMPI conserve Loi n° 491 dans sa base de données WIPO Lex.<ref name=Law2006/>

I think it's better to leave the <ref> inside the translation unit, yes, as it's not an issue when translating but helps to keep things pretty from the typographical point of view :) And of course the ^{[69/2014 Art 3(ii)]} bits are nice and really helpful (I had to use them also when translating CRT pages for some French-speaking countries of Africa back to French...)

Commons:Categories/fr

We collided on this one. I am in the middle of migrating translations of Commons:Categories to the translate extension, which is not easy because there have been a lot of changes and additions since the early translations were split off. Anyway, I used Special:PageMigration to move what I could, saved, checked the result, and found a lot of headings I had not migrated had been translated. I have tried to recover your translation of the introduction, and think mostly you were doing headings that survived my changes, but perhaps you could check... No problem at all! I was concerned that I had undone something you had just done, but I think that in this case nothing was lost. I may ask for your help with migrating Commons:General disclaimer, which is protected at present so only an administrator can change it, but that needs very careful preparation. Also, it has both traditional and simplified Chinese versions, which we should preserve but which the translate extension does not support. During migration of Commons:Deletion policy to the translate extension, four redirect pages were replaced by copies of the English version: Commons:Deletion policy/als, Commons:Deletion policy/pt-br, Commons:Deletion policy/zh-hans and Commons:Deletion policy/zh-hant.

• An attempt to translate/edit Commons:Deletion policy/als (Alemannisch/Alsation) is routed to the translation of Commons:Deletion policy/gsw (Alemannisch/Swiss German). There is no way to add a {{Speedydelete}} tag to Commons:Deletion policy/als.
• Commons:Deletion_policy/pt-br (Brazilian Portuguese) used to point to Commons:Política de eliminação, which has been moved to Commons:Deletion policy/pt (European Portuguese). It would be possible to add a {{Speedydelete}} tag in the pt-br translation, but results may be unpredicatable.
• Edit attempts fail with Commons:Deletion policy/zh-hans (Simplified Chinese, pointed to the old Commons:删除政策 translation) and Commons:Deletion policy/zh-hant (Traditional Chinese, pointed to Commons:刪除守則, which now redirects to Commons:Deletion policy/zh). They get the message: "Translation to Simplified Chinese is disabled: Translate in zh please." There is no way to add {{Speedydelete}} tags.

Without having to do anything on my side, it seems that translating/editing Commons:Deletion policy/als (Alemannisch/Alsation) is now possible without redirections. Same thing for Commons:Deletion_policy/pt-br (Brazilian Portuguese).

However, for the simplified and traditional Chinese I should have to read the documentation to understand this issue. I'm not sure to be able to handle it right now...

• Thanks for deleting the zh-hans and zh-hant versions. They really served no purpose. The simplified and traditional translations are preserved in Commons:删除政策 and Commons:Deletion policy/zh. The simplified version is very old but may be some use when we get clarity on how Chinese variants should be handled.
• I see you copied the intro from Commons:Deletion policy/pt to Commons:Deletion policy/pt-br. That works. The title is legitimate, and perhaps a Brazilian will adjust and expand the translation. I think the difference is in choice of loan words rather than spelling and grammar.
• Commons:Deletion policy/als is still a problem. The translate extension has been configured so that als = Alemannisch, and Alemannisch = gsw. The dialects spoken in Alsace and Switzerland must be so close there is no point having different translations. When you look at Commons:Deletion policy/als you see the English version as of the date of migration: "This page sets out the deletion policy of ..." But if you go to translate/edit it, you are put into Commons:Deletion policy/gsw: "Zum d Allmänd effiziänt instand halte chönne..." A mess. Aymatth2 (talk) 12:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

I don't know. It would seem logical to have a redirect from /als to /gsw, but the redirect would probably appear on the <languages/> bar. Well, it seems that I can't create a redirect, nor edit directly Commons:Deletion policy/als as it is only handled by the translate extension. Bonjour, merci pour votre message ! Qu'est-ce que vous entendez par "rester indéfiniment dans l'outil de traduction" ? Je pose la question car la traduction en français semble accessible sans problème particulier, même en n'étant pas connecté au site par exemple.

Si vous désirez ajouter des informations, effectivement il faut les ajouter sur la version anglaise, qui sert de référence, puis les traduire le cas échéant. Je peux vous y aider si besoin (notamment pour bien gérer les balises servant à marquer les bouts de texte à traduire, dans la version anglaise).

"rester indéfiniment dans l'outil de traduction" veut dire : être à jamais obligé de passer par l'outil de traduction et ne pas pouvoir faire "modifier" sur la page en français (comme c'était le cas dans un passé récent). Je compare (peut-être faussement) avec ce qui se passe quand on traduit un article dans WP : une fois l'article traduit, on est libre de le modifier dans WP:fr sans passer par l'outil de traduction, mais c'est peut-être différent sur Commons. Je vois que le paragraphe que j'avais ajouté sur /fr (diagrammes techniques) a été traduit dans l'autre sens. Ah, d'accord, alors dans ce cas effectivement, on ne peut plus modifier directement la page en français, on est obligé de passer par l'outil de traduction. Cependant, il faut bien veiller à mettre à jour d'abord la version anglaise qui sert de référence car sinon, les précisions que vous ajoutez à un paragraphe risquent d'être perdues si le paragraphe en anglais est modifié et que quelqu'un d'autre refait la traduction directement à partir de la version anglaise modifiée... After the months-long policy consultation, we have prepared a policy (available in many languages) that has been ratified by the Board of Trustees. We’re currently in the second phase of the process. During this round of consultation, we want to discuss the implementation of this policy. As a member of the functionary team of Wikimedia Commons, your opinion on enforcement is of great value. We want to hear from you on how this policy can be enforced on the Wikimedia Commons community and what might be needed to do so. There are a few enforcement questions so you can easily outline your answers based on them. Please do not hesitate to bring any more questions/challenges you think are not yet discussed.

Як і в попередні роки, долучитися до змагання можуть усі охочі — як професійні фотографи, так і аматори. Головне, щоб ви любили Землю і розділяли ідею конкурсу — представити природно-заповідні території України за допомогою світлин під вільними ліцензіями. У Вікіпедії та Вікісховищі конкурсні фото будуть доступні тисячам людей.

Загальний формат конкурсу буде таким же, як у минулі роки. Протягом травня ми опублікуємо детальні умови та можливості для участі у спеціальних номінацій. Стежте за новинами проєкту у Фейсбуці, Інстаграмі або у блозі. Також ключова інформація буде з'являтися на сторінці у Вікісховищі.

Wellcome template

Hi Alno - it appears you've rewritten lots of the Wellcome credit template components (template:Wellcome Images, specifically different language variants of Wellcome Images/i18n) to say Science Museum Group and point to an SMG URL rather than Wellcome. This is incorrect - the images uploaded with the Wellcome template are not from the Science Museum Group, they are from Wellcome. I have manually undone the entry for the English langauge and then saw that it had also been done for French - I can undo this edit too, but I need to know if / how many other language templates were incorrectly changed and therefore need fixing so could you please let me know? And if you automated this change, can you please batch correct it? Thanks in advance for your help rectifying this issue. Zeromonk (talk) 12:37, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

{{Wellcome Images}} is based upon a templating system, in which the 'tvar' tag is used to centralize the URL value in the formatting part of the template. The URL itself is not translated. You can restore my edit and then fix the URL, it will be automagically updated in all the translated versions of the template ;)

Well, I see that you've already fixed the English version, I marked the whole as to be updated, the changes you made in the translated parts of the text will be taken into account sooner or later, depending on the translating volunteers for each language. De-adminship warning

Dear Alno. I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your admin rights and also additional permissions (bureaucrat/oversighter/checkuser/interface-admin), if any, on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section/Aug-Sep 2021 before 13th September, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose their rights.

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. Цього року українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» пройде з 1 по 31 жовтня — через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: тільки світлини зроблені до 23 лютого 2022 року включно будуть прийматися в основній частині конкурсу.

В Україні цей конкурс пройде вже водинадцяте. На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

Радимо ознайомитися із детальними правилами, а також із відповідями на часті питання. Як і того року — у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» можна отримати 21 бал за фотографії об'єктів, якщо світлин цієї пам'ятки раніше не було завантажено.

Нагадаємо, що всі фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Цього року знову пройде спецномінація «Відео» — для участі робіт у цій спецномінації не потрібно обирати нічого у Завантажувачі — роботи зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

I saw you recently edited the article "Common: Reusing PD-Art Photos". I wanted to tell you (in case it is of your interest to mention it) that, in Argentina, the duration of the property right, for photographic works, is TWENTY (20) years counted from the date of the first post. This arises from the text of article 34 of Law 11,723.

Note: It is also relevant to know that, in this country, the publication of a photographic portrait of a person requires the express consent of that person. Once deceased, the consent of your spouse, children, father or mother, or the direct descendants of the children is required. Missing these, the publication is free. The exception to this requirement occurs when the publication of the portrait is related to scientific, educational or cultural purposes, in general; or with facts or events of public interest or that have taken place on public roads. This arises from article 31 of Law 11,723.

Du får det här meddelandet eftersom du tidigare har bidragit med bilder till de svenska deltävlingarna av Wiki Loves Earth eller Wiki Loves Monuments. Jag hoppas att du vill vara med i år också! Som vanligt ingår naturreservat och nationalparker, biosfärområden och naturminnen i tävlingen! Nytt för i år är att vi utöver bästa foto även belönar fotograferande av tidigare ofotograferade objekt samt bästa bildserie om minst tio fotografier av samma objekt. Tävlingen börjar 1 maj, och pågår under hela maj månad. Om du har varit ute i världen och rest kan du även se om resorna sammanfaller med övriga internationella deltävlingar, och i så fall vara med och tävla även där. Expeditioner, fotosafari eller en helt vanlig promenad? Via en smidig karta som visar ditt närområde hittar du bra ställen att besöka – eller varför inte damma av fotoalbumen och tävla med bilder du har tagit tidigare?

«Вікі любить Землю» 2023 в Україні проходить з 1 по 31 липня

Доброго дня!

Ви брали участь у конкурсі «Вікі любить Землю» в Україні раніше, тож приносимо вам важливу новину — Вікі любить Землю повернувся! Цього року конкурс відбувається протягом липня.

Як і в попередні роки, долучитися до змагання можуть усі охочі — як професійні фотографи, так і аматори. Головне, щоб ви любили Землю і розділяли ідею конкурсу — представити природно-заповідні території України за допомогою світлин під вільними ліцензіями. У Вікіпедії та Вікісховищі конкурсні фото будуть доступні тисячам людей.

Загальний формат конкурсу такий же, як у минулі роки. Стежте за новинами проєкту у Facebook, Instagram або в блозі. Також ключова інформація буде з'являтися на сторінці у Вікісховищі.

Важливо! З міркувань національної безпеки та безпеки учасників і учасниць до участі у конкурсі допускаються тільки фото та відео, зроблені до 23 лютого 2022 року включно!

Рекомендуємо уважно ознайомитись з правилами конкурсу та звернути увагу на вимоги щодо якості фотографій. Цьогоріч мінімальна роздільна здатність фотографій, які приймаються на конкурс, становить 2 Мп.

Важливо! Через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: у більшості випадків тільки роботи зняті до 30 червня 2023 року включно будуть прийматися на конкурс.
