Hello all,

During the 2022 Wikimedia Summit, the Movement Charter Drafting Committee (MCDC) presented the first outline of the Movement Charter, giving a glimpse on the direction of its future work, and the Charter itself. The MCDC then integrated the initial feedback collected during the Summit. Before proceeding with writing the Charter for the whole Movement, the MCDC wants to interact with community members and gather feedback on the drafts of the three sections: Preamble, Values & Principles, and Roles & Responsibilities (intentions statement). The Movement Charter drafts will be available on the Meta page here on November 14, 2022. Community wide consultation period on MC will take place from November 20 to December 18, 2022. With the goal of ensuring that people are well informed to fully participate in the conversations and are empowered to contribute their perspective on the Movement Charter, three “Ask Me Anything about Movement Charter" sessions have been scheduled in different time zones. Everyone in the Wikimedia Movement is invited to attend these conversations. The aim is to learn about Movement Charter - its goal, purpose, why it matters, and how it impacts your community. MCDC members will attend these sessions to answer your questions and hear community feedback.

The “Ask Me Anything” sessions accommodate communities from different time zones. Only the presentation of the session is recorded and shared afterwards, no recording of conversations. Below is the list of planned events:

  • Asia/Pacific: November 4, 2022 at 09:00 UTC (your local time). Interpretation is available in Chinese and Japanese.
  • Europe/MENA/Sub Saharan Africa: November 12, 2022 at 15:00 UTC (your local time). Interpretation is available in Arabic, French and Russian.
  • North and South America/ Western Europe: November 12, 2022 at 15:00 UTC (your local time). Interpretation is available in Spanish and Portuguese.

Morteza hesabi, I don't deal in coins, mostly because I like collecting them too much. I buy them and even when some rise in value I don't sell them, for example some Dutch coins I bought for € 15,- sell now for more than € 480,- but I wouldn't sell them because I just enjoy looking at them more. In some parts of the Netherlands it is celebrated by children walking a lantern from door-to-door and singing songs related to the holiday. After the song is done the inhabitants will reward the children by giving them candy 🍬.

Morteza hesabi, I'm an Atheist, I just participate in holidays because of tradition and entertainment, not as something spiritual.
Regarding the database, you need to have consensus that it is within scope and you need to make sure that the content you import is freely licensed. In some jurisdictions databases aren't copyrightable but in others they are.   • As this conversation hasn't had any replies in a number of days I'm going to archive it, as for the original question concerning the uploading of the Dogelon cryptocurrency database I (currently) don't have the technical skills nor know-how how to import such databases, nor do I know if the Dogelon Index is freely licensed. Well, the website reads "All content is released in public domain." Which means that the website could imported purely based on the licensing, the website itself reads that its mission is "Dogelon Index is a collection of cloned Dogelon Mars tokens over many blockchains such that their sum is always equal to one million billions (1,000,000,000,000,000), same as ELON. - Stability and convertibility are guaranteed by interventions by a central authority and by progressively locked liquidity on popular decentralized exchanges.". But this doesn't necessarily seem like something that is within the general scope of the Wikimedia Commons.
Another thing I see is "smart contracts" is "Here follows a(n ever growing) list in no particular order of the Dogelon Index tokens’ contract addresses on supported networks, together with main exchanges for each of them." These don't seem to be a filetype which can be imported to the Wikimedia Commons as they're just strings of characters like "0x35ac92580eb672d9c76fee4228165f6ef224c334" (Polygon) as an example. The website further states things like "You can stake Dogelon Index tokens as you would do with any other standard *RC-20 token. For example you can add it in a 1:1 ratio on decentralized exchanges (*swap) to collect fees. - Since the total liquidity is still very low you will benefit from higher fees than with standard Dogelon on popular exchanges. - Another benefit in staking Dogelon Index tokens is you don’t have to worry about impermanent loss because the exchange rate is fixed." Which indicates to me that it is a for-profit commercial index that likely isn't very compatible with the Wikimedia Commons.
