Please don't blank pagesEdit

Hi Drumzo,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you blanked File:Jonathan Rashad.JPG on Commons. I assume you meant for the page to be deleted, but blanking the page is not the right way to do this. I'd like to strongly recommend to use {{speedy| type reason here }} and add it on top of the page you would like to have deleted; This way it will be placed on a special list that administrators check regularly for deletion. Without this it might take a long time before it's noticed. Thanks again. –Krinkletalk 23:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

File:Tahrir Square on February11.pngEdit

Commons-emblem-issue.svg File:Tahrir Square on February11.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.
Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I would like to feature one of your photos and ask you a few questionsEdit

Hi Drumzo,

My name is Frank and I'm a user on Wikimedia Commons and a long-term Wikipedian. I just started an outline for a Commons magazine for photographers. For the first issue, I would like to feature one of your photos that I came across. It's for the section The story behind the picture (capturing events in history) and it would be great if you could answer some short questions. The photo I was thinking of is this one.

This photo fascinates me because they're examples of Commons photographers being close to some events that changed people's lifes. With that said, I totally respect your anonymity and you choose whether you want to answer my questions or not. In case you're interested, you can answer the questions on my talk page or send me an email (kontakt[at]schulenburg[dot]biz). Here are my questions:

  • What does the photo show? When did you take this picture? Where? (just in case some people here are not familiar with the background)
  • How did you happen to be at this place at that moment?
  • This picture is being used on five Wikipedia language versions. It's one of the main pictures about the revolution on the Arabic Wikipedia (being featured on the top of the article) and also by the fact that it's also being used on the English Wikipedia, you reached a huge audience across countries. What does that mean to you?
  • What did you do after you took the picture?

Thanks in advance, --Frank Schulenburg (talk) 03:10, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
