You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Hej! På vilket sätt har tillstånd givits att bilden kan användas enligt Creative Commons Erkännande-Dela Lika 3.0 Generisk? Umeå2014 skriver "Logotypen är varumärkesskyddad. Den får inte beskäras, förvanskas eller förändras på något sätt." på http://umea2014.se/sv/om-umea2014/informationsmaterial/logotyp-och-grafisk-manual/ och det krockar ju rejält med CC-By-SA. Hej Mikael! Jag fick tillstånd via mejl den 2 feb att använda logan i artikeln om Umeå på Wikipedia, från Elisabeth Lind/Kommunikationschef för Umeå2014 – Europas kulturhuvudstad. Självklart ska den inte beskäras, vilket de ju informerar om på sin sajt. Har det skett är det ett olycksfall i arbetet. 😢

Dear FrankieF,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Colour fixes

Snygga bilder från dagens aktiviteter gör mig glad! För statistik och uppföljning från WMSE-håll är det nödvändigt med en {{WMSE-teknikpool}} på dom bilder där den utrustningen är inblandad. Done! Lägger man till WMSE-teknikpool i kategori-taggen under själva uppladdningen? Tyvärr fick vi ingen ackreditering till någon röd matta så denna gång saknas bra gästbilder. Men jag hann slänga in några shoots i dörröppningen till södra valvet när några av gästerna passerade som svarta siluetter mot den soldränkta innergården. Kanon. Om du använder den nya uppladdningsguiden lägger du till den i fältet Övrig information längst ned, komplett med måsvingar och allt. Mallen lägger till kategorier som behövs och inforutan på varje filsida. Förläng svarstiden för ifrågasatta bilder

Tyvärr är det lite för kort svarstid som användare av ifrågasatta bilder har för att hinna bekräfta upphovsrätten. Har man ett heltidsjobb, är livligt fritidsengagerad och dessutom är bortrest åtskilliga veckor varje år blir wp-sysslan sällan en prioritet men väl en trevlig överkurs på fritiden.

Svarstiden för ifrågasatta bilder bör utsträckas – om man vill att användare ska hinna leta upp rätt personer bakom bildrättigheter, ta deras tid i anspråk och få dem insatta i olika regler för att slutligen mejla in rätt dokument.

Det räcker tyvärr inte med att dina "bilder är godkända av personal på plats". Det krävs en OTRS-licens. Det kan ta lite tid. Under tiden anger man att ORTS är ansökt, då ifrågasätter ingen din bild. Din bild File:ABBA- The Museum.jpg har funnits sedan 2013 det är lång tid. Allt detta vet du som rutinerad fotograf på WP. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.

Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.
