Comments The front hoof is a bit cut, but I think that a badge-wearing, wind-shield-equiped horse makes up for it. -- Rama 15:05, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thanks for the nomination of quality picture. :) I should have her name around some place and will eventually get it categorised. (I was hoping the Germans could use the national team pics for their Paralympic articles.) --LauraHale (talk) 00:03, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Confused about User:Gnangarra/K20D edit

Gnangarra, I am quite confused about User:Gnangarra/K20D. The way I read it, in the current format it says:

  • Orange box says: "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia License"
  • Little intro says: "the below license does not indicate the actual image license, the actual image license is as precribed above in an orange coloured box"
  • Commons "below license" says: "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia License"

I do not think you can have it both ways. It is either "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia" or not, and in the current form it is quite confusing. I run into those when checking QI and featured pictures with no known licenses (surprisingly there is quite a lot of those and most of the time license was deleted somehow). There were no bots involved, and I am not aware or any "BOT required templates". One of the reasons to use standard template is that those templates are translated into 100's of languages, and since Commons is used by a lot of people that do not speak English, I do not think it is a good idea to hide the license in their language in a collapsed box. That defeats the purpose of localized license templates. Sorry, for changing things around but I was only trying to bring them up to the current "best practice" standards. --Jarekt (talk) 14:29, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
