Hej!

/Lokal_Profil 20:40, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
Jag förstår. Visste inte att upphovsrätten spelade in. Jag ska se om tecknen finns blasonerade. Kul att länken kom till användning. /Elzo 90 (talk) 16:19, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Seems to be broken. --McZusatz (talk) 14:50, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. A few files crashed during upload. Thought we'd found most of these though. I'll look on my disc after the holidays to see if I have a backup there. Otherwise I'll need to get a new one from the museum. Work there has slowed down for personnel reasons so some of the follow-up to the batch-upload has been down-prioritised. Still if you find more such things either drop a line here or on Commons:LSH/Error reports.
Oh and when I have you on the line. Thanks for helping out with the yellow-tinted tiffs. Cheers Lokal_Profil 18:22, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
Found it on my back-up drive. Should be working now. /Lokal_Profil 14:28, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

I restored description from the Positive version, please doublecheck. --Denniss (talk) 11:00, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks. This particular upload seems to have missfired. Info should be all correct now. /Lokal_Profil 18:01, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Have you already grabbed the missing/corrupted images or are you still colecting/checking them? --Denniss (talk) 18:57, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
I've fixed the images above but the others are still waiting for feedback from the museum (they unexpectedly had staff go on leave). I'll ping them to see if I can come by to copy/upload the missing/corrupt files. /Lokal_Profil 11:34, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Picture of the Year 2013 R2 AnnouncementEdit

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open!Edit

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on . Click here to learn more and vote »

John, Duke of Östergötland/Johan av Sverige, hertig av ÖstergötlandEdit

Hello, I hope you are well.

I need your help please.

I found the coat of arms of John, Duke of Östergötland (1589/1618), but I have a problem described.

What can you see at the bottom left the coat of arms or Östergötland or the lion of Bjelbo ?

and a bottom right fish or a boat or....coat of arms or Östergötland

Thank you in advance for your help good day and good weekend to you

cordidally--Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 09:30, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Hard to say. Bottom left is definitly not the Östergötland CoA. I'd say it's likely a lion of Bjelbo (think there are lines indicating the parted field below).
Bottom right is harder. Again not the Östergötland CoA but as for what it is I couldn't say: Mermaid possibly, or Fish, boat, sausage ;)
It's likely not his official CoA (or at least not his only one). /Lokal_Profil 17:05, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for your reply

Do you think a dragon but timeworn?

as in the arms of Östanstång Västanstång vapen.svg

thank you again good afternoon

cordially--Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 17:54, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Don't think so. Comparing it to the top right field it looks a lot like they are the same. /Lokal_Profil 18:04, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

You will know someone who could help me? please

cordially--Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 18:19, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

I would recommend asking at Heraldica. A forum for scandinavian heraldry. The link goes to the English part of the forum (you would need to get an account). /Lokal_Profil 10:24, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

    • Hello I hope you are well, we can be found a solution with my friend FJMH.

What we see is neither a fish nor a siren, not a real dragon but .... a Wyverns.

Look at what we have uploaded Suecia 3-003 ; Östergötlands landskapsvapen.jpg

At that time the Ostergotland is divided into 2 would therefore part Västanstångs

What would that this shield is not a dragon Västanstång vapen.svg but it would Wyverns. Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Portugal (1640-1910).png

Give me your opinion please thank you, good day --Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 08:09, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Seems as though you found the answer. Could you please add the source of the image to the description? As for File:Västanstång vapen.svg the blazon specifies a dragon not a wyern. Might be that the blazon is incorrect though. /Lokal_Profil 16:24, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

good reception

good day to you --Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 16:42, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Västanstång vapen, 2.svg
I checked my source and apparently the blazon for this (and Östanstång) were never written defined and have been reconstructed from various images and descriptions which is why they tend to differ. They were designed for Gustav Vasa's funeral and where only really in use whilst his son Magnus was alive. :I've created a second version using a wyern as an alternative interpretation of the arms. /Lokal_Profil 14:40, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Request for feedback on my GSoC'14 proposalEdit

Hi Lokal Profil,

I am planning to work on the project titled "Tools for mass migration of legacy translated wiki content" this summer under Google Summer of Code. I have drafted a proposal for the same over the past few weeks. This project is going to help the translation adminstrators like you in a great way, as it would completely automate the tedious manual task of preparing a page for translation and then importing the translations into the Translate extension. You can check the proposal page for detailed information on how I plan to accomplish this.

As you would be an end user of this tool, it would be great if you could go through the proposal and provide feedback/suggestions. Your feedback would definitely help me improve the proposal as well help in creating an even better tool. You can do the same on the discussion page of the proposal or reply here, whichever is convenient for you. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you!

P.S: I need to submit the proposal to Google by March 19, 2014.

Specify license to modify you mapEdit

Please see the license specify to File:Map of Russian districts, 2014.png. This is modify your file Map_of_Russian_districts,_2008-03-01.svg. --Mauser98k (talk) 20:37, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I'm unsure what the question is. Are you wondering whether the specified license on the derivative is ok? /Lokal_Profil 14:13, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Missing LSH imagesEdit

What's the status of the missing LSH images? If they are not expected to be available soon please run your cleanup script to remove them from files listed in Category:Files with broken file links. Thanks. --Denniss (talk) 10:51, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Sorry that I've been letting this slide. Should have an answer (either way) before Easter after which I'll either get the files or remove the links. /Lokal_Profil 11:13, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. --Denniss (talk) 12:47, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
