Thank You Überraschungsbilder, I'm a totally beginner on Commons and this is my first massive upload. Tomorrow I'll try to fix some problems (Names too long?) and I'm going to insert my uploaded pictures in galleries. I hope I'm doing someting usefull. --LucaG 01:17, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, the long file names should be no problem – much better than things like DSC_76256.JPG, of course ;-) And personally, I like good, desciptive names. Hm, you're using the Commonist for uploads? If yes, good choice!

Little tip: You could have a look at Category:User galleries for different options how to organise your photos in user galleries. Some people use a general category directly on upload, others sort their pictures manually … (note: the categories named "Files by User:… on ….wikipedia" were mostly created by a bot. There's no regulation for the naming of such categories). You can just add your gallery page to the other user galleries.

If you need any help here on Commons, don't hesitate to ask me. Even if Commons seem to be a bit messy at first glance, we're quite well organised in some ways. Hi again :-) I saw your question on Lyacon's page, and just for the case you didn't find out already: You can easily upload another, corrected version of every image, so that it replaces the former one – as you did on Image:IMG_0839_Yarlong_Tsangpo.jpg. So just go e.g. to Image:Piles_of_Salt_Salar_de_Uyuni_Bolivia_Luca_Galuzzi_2006.jpg, scroll down and watch out for the "Upload a new version of this file" link below the "File history" section. Yes I know how to replace an image but I thought it wasn't the right thing to do while the image is under evaluation as a FP candidate. Now that Trialsanderrors fixed the tilt I think that the right way is to upload a second version of the picture to add in Commons:Featured picture candidates page. Hey Luca, yes, if it is a minor fix you can just upload it over the original, or if it is a major fix add a second picture to the nomination. But I had another question: Does the Piles of salt picture show salt refinery? Hi Trialsanderrors. No, Piles of salt picture doesn't show refinery. It shows the first step when farmers heap up salt from the salar crust into conical piles and leave it dry in the sun before transport to a refinery.

No offence taken, but how do I not "use your name"? I mean, the license that you chose (cc-by-sa) requires me to state the original author (you). And also, what's wrong with just... keeping it there?
