crippled pics edit
I have lighten up to see more details under the roofs. Undo it if you don't like it. Even pics here are free for anybody to modify, I respect if you don't like my changes. If you like parts of my changes I am open to work together. --Marku1988 18:23, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- First of all, if you modify something, you should at least comment what you did. That is a must. Secondly, I would recommend to notify the original author, which I think is a must when you are "overwriting" the original pictures. Your changes are worsening the pictures, look e.g. on Image:Chengde, China - 006.jpg. Yes, the original was too dark (object was photographed against the light). Your change made the building brighter, but there is a lot of noise, colors are terrible and highlights are blown out. I lighten up the shadows and uploaded the picture again. What do you think? --Maros 20:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I dont want to annoy you. When you publish in wikipedia you give away your child to the community. Thats fact. But I respect the parent feelings and will not upload a picture again, perhaps if I think it is very important I will do it under annother name. Aesthetics is what you are looking for, information is what I am looking for. So your changes are good in your sense. --Marku1988 17:51, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- I did not doubt your right to modify pictures, but the fact that you did the changes without a comment and that the quality of your changes is controversial at best. I do not know what "information" you are looking for, but I hope you understood my message. --Maros 10:00, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I saw your picture at the WP photography review, and decided to have a go at an edit. I have uploaded the edit at Image:Temple of Heaven, Beijing, China - 010 edit.jpg. This is my first time doing anything that extensive to a picture, so please accept my apologies if the edit is poor. I appreciate feedback, since, again, I have never done anything this extensive. Thank you. Thegreenj 04:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Thegreenj. Thanks for the post - sorry I did not answer earlier. No need for apologies. It is hard for me to judge how good or bad your changes were. Some things are certainly improved, some are I guess worse. Sky was grey and after your edit is blue - although it looks better, it is farther from the (sad) reality. Furthermore I think that there are more overexposed areas. Generaly, I think your edit looks better, but is less realistic. If I had time, I could squeese out probably something better - I still have original raw files from the camera. --Maros 23:58, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- I will upload the edit without the sky layer later, but if you don't mind, I'm sure you could turn out a better result using the raw files than I can with this. BTW, I see very few overexposed areas in either, and about the same amount. Thegreenj 04:14, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- sorry, I was not specific enough. When you look au the people that are walking under the teple you can see that they are quite bright (especially white clothes and umbrellas). But don't get me wrong, I think it is great that you want to improve the photos. I would do it myself, but I have not time. I have still loads of images waiting for upload... --Maros 17:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delay. I now have uploaded a newer version minus the sky. Thegreenj 21:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Looks good. Thanks for the effort. The description you proposed is definitely better than the current one. If you do not oppose, I would like to use it. --;;Maros 23:24, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- I am not sure for what you are asking to use it, but as long as it is within the lisences, you may of course use it for whatever purpose. Thegreenj 23:58, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

- Ah. Well, that was actually written by User:Malachirality, but I'm sure it's fine. Thegreenj 00:11, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Image uploaded without its history edit
Hi Maros, you seem to have uploaded this image Image:1935,1936 Rudi's(4th child from left on bottom row) high school photo-1.jpg without preserving the history. Would you mind redoing it, please, to comply with the GFDL? In my experience, material uploaded without its history is more likely to be deleted. Many thanks, SlimVirgin 01:18, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- there is a link to the original page and the license with the text. I thought that this should be sufficient. But you are right that might not be enough. I added there a line with upload history. Please check it. If necessary please change it to comply with GFDL or let me know how to correct it. Thanks. --Maros 23:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

- i used the same license as the original (en wiki). If the author there used a invalid reason for PD i cannot do anything about it. --Maros 23:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
