You uploaded this image

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US_Navy_100119-N-6676S-006_A_U.S._Coast_Guard_HH-60J_Jayhawk_helicopter_leaves_the_soccer_field_at_the_Killick_Haitian_Coast_Guard_Base_to_transport_earthquake_victims.jpg

I converted it to Black and White and colourized the Helicopter only when I was learning how to do this sort of thing. The picture came out awesome and I was wondering if you wanted a copy that I could email to you. I was also trying to figure out of the contact the original photographer as I wanted to share the colorized image with him also.

How to use flickrripper?

I like to help with flickr imports and try flickrripper. I follow the [1] and install PIL and flickrapi. Now (on a headless maschine without X) I try python2.7 flickrripper.py -help and got

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "flickrripper.py", line 41, in <module>
    from Tkinter import *
ImportError: No module named Tkinter

How to fix this error? I miss some information too. Howto use flickrripper in a batch job on a headless maschine? Can you give me some example howto import a set, remove the suggested categories and add a single one (as batch job). Thank you. --Slick (talk) 16:56, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

You can run in autonomous mode (without user interaction). For example:
python flickrripper.py -photoset_id:72157633267540270 -addcategory:"GLAM-WIKI: UK 2013" -removecategories -autonomous
This was the command I used at the Toolserver to fill up Category:GLAM-WIKI: UK 2013. Multichill (talk) 20:49, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, will try today in the afternoon. What about if files already uploaded to commons? Do flickrripper ignore this files or upload it again? --Slick (talk) 08:36, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Still the same error. --Slick (talk) 13:23, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
$python2.7 flickrripper.py -photoset_id:72157633267540270 -addcategory:"GLAM-WIKI: UK 2013" -removecategories -autonomous
Traceback (most recent call last):

I found the solution. I using Gentoo and there you have to use the useflag tk on python [2]. Instead of installing PIL by Hand, you should use dev-python/imaging (with useflag tk too). Only install flickrapi by hand is necessary yet. --Slick (talk) 13:53, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
How do I use the start_id and stop_id? I tried with the numeric IDs of the images found in the url. It start at the given start_id, but this does not stop at the stop_id. Thank you. --Slick (talk) 15:34, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
python2.7 flickrripper.py -user_id:55426027@N03 -start_id:8722710435 -stop_id:8718562614 -addcategory:"Steam locomotives of the Ffestiniog Railway" -removecategories -autonomous
Oh, this documentation is outdated. It should be -end_id, I found in the source. Right? --Slick (talk) 15:38, 10 May 2013 (UTC) I am to stupid to red. ;) --Slick (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

There is a bug in flickrripper. If the author named *.com the upload fails on extension blacklist. (I fix it for me by simple remove the .com in the filename.) See:

It is possible to ignore video files and only upload images? (i.E. checking the mime-type) Currently it import videos (in the wrong format) too. --Slick (talk) 07:20, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Category:Leur

Tijdens de RCE-batch-upload is Category:Leur een mix geworden van Leur (Etten-Leur) en Leur (Wijchen). Kun jij nog gegevens achterhalen om die twee te ontrafelen? --Havang(nl) (talk) 21:31, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Category:Monumentos Nacionais in Madeira and others

Hey Multichill, I don't know what was this weird "reconstruction of category tree" or whatever in the National Monuments of Portugal, but they do need to be organized by district or region. It's illogical and against the category system to have them loose in the "cultural heritage buildings" categories of each district and region. Last October changes were absolutely horrendous, if there is some technical issue with it, it should have been resolved without destroying the district and region classification. Can you please use your bot to reverse those changes? -- Darwin Ahoy! 02:00, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

I've been looking at the UK cultural heritage monument listings here at Commons, maybe we could simplify the Portuguese classification by using the acronyms in Template:SIPA and others (MN, IIP, etc), which would eliminate the need for a "translation". It should become "Listed buildings grade MN in Lisbon" or rather "Buildings classified MN in Lisbon", or some other similar formula that could be easily perceived by Portuguese and foreigners. I don't know if there is any need at all for a complete list of each kind of monument (the British do not seem to have them). In any case, the regional categories need to be revived, it's a Babylon now on the Portuguese national monuments. What do you think, could we adapt the British system? -- Darwin Ahoy! 02:24, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Hello Multichill, using the British cultural heritage listings as a model, and adapting it to the Portuguese situation using this guide, I'm building a new, much cleaner and easier system of classification for the Portuguese cultural heritage monuments. You can see how it looks like here - Category:Classified buildings in Madeira. Maybe some further adaptations or corrections would be necessary, but in this system they can be smoothly executed by a bot. I understand that the former classification system posed many problems during Wiki Loves Monuments, I hope it will be resolved this way. If you believe something is not good, or could be further improved, mainly relating to your bots, please tell me.-- Darwin Ahoy! 15:00, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi Darwin, I remeber these monuments giving me an headache. I'll have to digest this and I'll get back to you. Multichill (talk) 13:23, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Hey Multichill, I'm trying to organize that tree in a way that there is a single category over all classified monuments, and containing only classified monuments with known IDs, which, as I understand, are the target of contests like Wiki Loves Monuments. I hope that this will simplify the life for the bot procedures, and smooth future participations of Portugal in those contests. If you could recall it, please tell me what caused the problems last time, so that it can be fixed.-- Darwin Ahoy! 13:56, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
