Erste Schritte Unser Ratgeber Erste Schritte und unsere FAQ können Dir nach Deiner Anmeldung hilfreich sein. Sie erklären, wie Du die Benutzeroberfläche anpassen und zum Beispiel auf Deine Muttersprache umstellen kannst. Auch erklären sie, wie Du Dateien hochladen kannst. Daneben erläutern sie unsere grundlegende Lizenzpolitik. Du benötigst keine besonderen technischen Kenntnisse, um hier mitzumachen. Alle Deine hochgeladenen Dateien sind in Deiner persönlichen Benutzergalerie einsehbar. Trage dazu im Feld User Deinen Benutzernamen ein und bestätige mit ENTER. Bitte unterschreibe auf Diskussionsseiten, indem Du ~~~~ tippst. Verwende das CommonSense-Werkzeug, um geeignete Kategorien für Deine Dateien zu finden (damit andere Leute sie ebenfalls auffinden können!). Um auf eine Bildbeschreibungsseite zu verlinken, schreibe dies:[[:Image:Foo.jpg]], so dass dies angezeigt wird: Image:Foo.jpg Sofern Du Dateien aus einem anderen Projekt überträgst, verwende bitte immer das Werkzeug CommonsHelper. Hast Du einen Fehler gemacht? Wolltest Du eine Datei umbenennen oder sie verschieben? Lade sie einfach erneut hoch und markiere die alte Datei mit {{bad name|Richtiger Name}} Ausführliche Informationen findest Du auf der Seite Löschrichtlinien.

Ja, hab Emailkontakt mit dem Landespolizeikommando aufgenommen. Außerdem kenn ich die zuständigen Personen im Pressereferat persönlich, aber das tut ja hier nix zur Sache. Meinst du, ich sollte das Mail zur OTRS-Behandlung weiterleiten? Lg, Plani (talk) 01:24, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Ich habe das OTRS-Mail bereits gesendet, das Bild wurde aber dennoch gelöscht. Im Übrigen finde ich das ein bisschen eine Zumutung, mir hier so mit einem Keulenschlag daherzukommen so in der Art "alle deine Bilder wurden überprüft und wir befinden dich für nicht glaubwürdig und würden gerne überall ein OTRS-Mail bekommen". Erstens weiß ich nicht, ob ich überall noch das dazu passende Mail finde, zweitens habe ich in den kommenden Wochen aufgrund meiner Maturavorbereitung kaum Zeit dafür und drittens würden, wenn die OTRS-Prüfung wieder so lange dauert, innerhalb von einer Woche zahlreiche Wikipedia-Artikel (zumindest auf de) aufgrund dessen bilderlos werden. Kann man diesen (offenbar stur automatisierten) Löschprozess nicht irgendwie vorläufig aufheben, bis ich in der Lage bin, für die einzelnen Bilder die entsprechenden Mails zusammen zu suchen? Ich kann versichern, dass alle Bilder korrekt lizenziert wurden. Warum mir hier weniger geglaubt wird als anderen, kann ich allerdings nicht nachvollziehen. Plani (talk) 14:28, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Es wird niemanden weniger geglaubt, wenn jemand zufällig drüber stolpert und es als Löschwürdig ansieht, dann wird es nach einer Löschdiskussion gelöscht, aber man kann die Bilder auch wieder herstellen, so schlimm ist das nicht.--Sanandros (talk) 19:46, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

Dear Plani,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Do you mind if I give again Police vans in Austria category to your file? Volkswagen LT are said to be vans in Commons since 2008 and the problem is just that I didn't finish the work I started: there is at least 14 Austrian police vans in the automobiles category, and I think they deserve their own category, as Automobiles seem to be synonym of cars, in Commons.

No, of course not. Please feel free to add the category again. I was just wondering why you added the category as it didn't exist at that time. After you have now created the new category there's nothing against a re-categorisation of the file to this cat. @Schofför: Soweit mir erinnerlich ist, ist das nur ein Kartenausschnitt, nämlich jener zur Neutrassierung des Rheins bei der Bodenseemündung. Help decide the future of Wikimania

The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).

After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.

In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.

Rename images

I am not sure whether it was appropriate to rename images (File:Albert Kretschmer - 090 - Vorarlsberg, Montafontal.jpg and other). The names match the text on them. Jedudědek (talk) 21:25, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Jedudědek, no, it doesn't in fact. The text on all of the requested images was "Vorarlberg - something", not "Vorarlsberg - something". The correct name of the state is and was Vorarlberg, never Vorarslberg. Regarding my request of transfering Montafontal to the name Montafon: The text says Montafonthal so it should be either Montafonthal or the nowadays used term Montafon. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

FMDS4 hat {{Volare}} aufgebohrt und ich habe jetzt eine Prüfung auf die zulässigen collections eingebaut. Dabei ist aufgefallen: File:Alte-Hungerburgbahn-Talstation-39292.jpg ist lt. Quelle http://pid.volare.vorarlberg.at/o:39292 aus der Sammlung Rhomberg (unten bei Titel) und aus der Sammlung Risch-Lau (gemäß credits im Fotorahmen und lt. Definitiv nicht. Foto Rhomberg und Risch-Lau sind zwei voneinander getrennte Unternehmen, die sich sogar einige Zeit konkurrenziert haben. Hinweis bei Innenaufnahmen

Hi Plani, wie du gesehen hast, habe ich Innenaufnahmen vom 2017 unter Schutz gestellten Objekt in Meiningen hochgeladen. Die Frau hat mir dies genehmigt und gebeten, ihren Namen nicht zu nennen und wenn möglich den Hinweis beim Bild zu hinterlegen, dass dies kein Museum zur freien Besichtigung ist sondern immer noch privat bewohnt wird. Auf gut Deutsch: sie will da keinen Tourismus haben. Gibt es da in den Commons irgend eine Vorlage? Danke und lg Fred --Böhringer (talk) 20:06, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Architekten-Kategorien

Hallo, Plani! Am 22. Juni hast du bei File:SozialzentrumWeidach.jpg und bei File:Feuerwehrgerätehaus Watzenegg.jpg jeweils eine Kategorie hinzugefügt, die es nicht gibt. Vorarlberg-Kategorien

Ich habe gemerkt, daß du von fast jeden Bild, das ich in Vorarlberg genommen habe, die Kategorien von Vorarlberg entfernet hast. Das ist doch dir ganz erlaubt und ich wird die nicht zurückbringen. Ich will nur wissen, warum tust du das? JIP (talk) 00:15, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

@JIP: Aus einem sehr einfachen Grund: Die Bilder haben fast nie auch nur im Ansatz etwas mit Vorarlberg zu tun (abgesehen davon, dass sie zufällig in einem Vorarlberger Hotel oder Restaurant entstanden sind). Die Bilder sind so generisch, dass sie überall entstanden sein könnten, weshalb der Mehrwert der Kategorisierung unter eine geografisch-spezifische Kategorie nicht erkennbar ist. Anders sieht das aus mit Bildern, die Veranstaltungen oder Örtlichkeiten zeigen – solche Bilder können und sollen geografisch verortet werden. Für reine Bilder von Speisen, Getränken oder Hotelinnenräumen gilt das aber nicht. Servus Reinhard, ich denke, "Bauwerke" sind eher in der Category:Buildings in Vorarlberg einsortiert. "Structures" hätte ich mit "Struktur/Gebilde/Konstruktion" übersetzt und entsprechend dort auch die "Street furnitures" einsortiert. Ich habe mich bei der Kategorisierung im Übrigen an der Ober-Kategorie Category:Street furniture in Austria orientiert, die ebenfalls in der Kategorie Category:Structures in Austria by function einsortiert ist. Wenn dir eine bessere Lösung einfällt, immer gerne her damit. Ich bin mir bei den Straßenmöbeln selber unsicher... Beste Grüße, Plani (talk) 08:50, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Commons unterscheidet nach meinem Verständnis bei den Kategorien zwischen "Buildings" = Gebäude = alles was gebaut wurde, damit sich Menschen darin aufhalten und "Structures" = Bauwerke, was auch sowas wie Brücken oder Sendemasten umfasst. Im Moment finde ich unterhalb der Category:Vorarlberg nichts, wo die Stadtmöbel richtig gut reinpassen würden - höchstens bei Category:Culture of Vorarlberg, aber das wäre schon eine sehr weite Auslegung des Begriffs "Kultur". Ich hab die Kategorie jetzt vorläufig mal wieder "ganz oben" reingehängt, vielleicht ergibt sich ja bei einem weiteren Ausbau des Kategoriebaums mal was. Zuerst einmal: Herzlich Willkommen und vielen Dank für deine großartigen Fotos! Manche Dinge hier sind selbsterklärend, andere sind es eher weniger. Die wichtigste Funktion auf Wikimedia Commons hast du jedenfalls schon gefunden – die Upload-Funktion, um neue Bild- und Mediendateien hochzuladen. Bei anderen Funktionen kann ich dir gerne helfen, wenn du Hilfe benötigen solltest. Das Kategorien-System ist beispielsweise nicht immer ganz selbstverständlich (und teilweise in sich auch nicht konsistent), aber da orientierst du dich am Besten an anderen, bereits bestehenden Dateien, die in ähnlichen Kategorien einsortiert wurden. Genauso kannst du es auch mit der Benutzerseite halten: Einfach von anderen Benutzerseiten jene Teile kopieren, die dir für deine Benutzerseite gefallen, und den Teil weglassen, der dir nicht gefällt.

Solltest du konkrete Fragen haben, kannst du dich gerne jederzeit an mich oder einen der anderen Benutzer aus Österreich wenden. Jeder hier wird dir sehr gerne weiterhelfen.

Sprechende Dateinamen sind grundsätzlich zu begrüßen, ich habe mir ebenfalls mehrere Jahre die Arbeit gemacht, die Originaldateinamen in sprechende Namen umzuschreiben. Das Problem dabei ist allerdings, dass früher oder später ein Bot oder anderer Benutzer die Datei unter dem Originalnamen eventuell nochmals hochlädt, weil "flick2commons" auf Commons nur auf die Existenz der Dateinamen, nicht aber auf die Inhalte überprüft, und jene Originaldateinamen zum möglichen Upload anbietet, die noch nicht auf Commons vorhanden sind. Daher bin ich dazu übergegangen, die oftmals nicht sprechenden Originaldateinamen beim Upload nicht mehr zu ändern. zunächst noch nachträglich herzlichen Glückwunsch zur sehr verdienten WikiEulen-Auszeichnung! Bezüglich deiner Anmerkung zu den Dateinamen: Ja, ein ewiges Dilemma bei Transfers von flickr. Ich nutze meistens die sprechenderen Dateinamen, bin mir aber wohlbewusst, dass dies das Risiko auftut, dass ein aderer Nutzer oder Bot die Datei dann doppelt transferiert. Die Vorzüge des sprechenden Namens überwiegen für mich (zumindest derzeit) aber dieses Risiko — im Fall des Falles könnte man das Zweitbild dann ja als Duplikat zur Löschung vorschlagen. Dass das "flickr2commons"-Skript leider nicht die Identität des Ursprungs-Bilds, sondern lediglich dessen Existenz unter gleichem Namen hierorts prüft, ist ein bedauerliches Manko dieses sonst sehr nützlichen Tools. Hallo Clemens, ja, genau: Die bereits beim Bild enthaltene Kategorie "Rhine in Vorarlberg" ist eine Unterkategorie von "Rhine in Austria", weshalb es die Oberkategorie hier nicht braucht.
