Hey - thanks for the update about the map(s). I can update them, but it will take about a week for me to get to it. If you want to hone your skills, let me know! :) Rarelibra 13:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Hi, T. L. I was thinking that Category:Duala peoples should be deleted and that Category:Bakweri and Category:Isubu should be moved out from under Category:Duala people. My sources all say that these are three different ethnic groups, albeit ones who speak related languages. It's odd to lump them all together in one category. What do you think? — Dulcem 09:20, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Voice of AmericaEdit
Hi. I'm afraid that images you upload from voice of america do not meet Commons criteria for being free. From their statement:
1.You are welcome to use any material that is published by voanews.com, or you may link to any of the web pages that Voice of America has published on the internet. There is no need to request further permission. Should you wish to establish a link to any VOA web pages, please send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Credit for any use of VOA material should be given to voanews.com, Voice of America, or VOA, and 'we ask that you not abridge or edit any VOA material which you may use.
- Bah, I wish these people would stop trying to claim copyright restrictions when they have no such rights. Sorry for the foulup. -mattbuck (Talk) 20:56, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing imagesEdit
Hello, T L Miles!
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
- [[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

A file uploaded by you is under deletion requestEdit
A file (or files) you uploaded from the Remote Sensing Tutorial from NASA Goddard Space Center has been tagged for deletion since that tutorial acknowledges that not all of the used images are actually NASA. (See here the overview of the tutorial). The group deletion request is here. Comments would be welcomed.--Garrondo (talk) 11:48, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
