Getting help

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

 

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Bild verändern, ergänzen / File: Janus1910_Operation.JPG edit

Hallo Trinitrix, für den Projektor Janus gibt es einen "Vertikal-Vorsatz". Mit diesem Vorsatz kann man, wie mit einem Overhead arbeiten. Er ist mit einem Tra-Janus in einem Prospekt von 1927 abgebildet. Wie kann ich den Vertikal-Vorsatz mit Gerät im Artikel Overhead verwenden? Das Bild aus dem alten Prospekt verwenden, gibt möglicherweise Probleme mit dem Urheberrecht? Oder dein Bild vom Janus verwenden und das Bild mit einem CAD Programm oder Bildbearbeitung ergänzen, dann habe ich dein Bild ergänzt und somit nicht das Bild aus dem Prospekt verwendet. Lieber Bomas, ich meine, für Commons ist im Augenblick 1923 der Stickpunkt für freie Verwendbarkeit; ich bin aber kein Copyrightexperte. Das Bild ist nicht "wirklich" meins, aber der Autor fand es einfacher, mir alle Rechte zu übertragen und mich auch hochladen zu lassen. Ich würde das heute anders dokumentieren. Vielleicht also erst mal bei Copyrihgt Expert/innen wegen des Prospekts nachfragen (z.B. hier). Viele Grüße, --Trinitrix (talk) 16:29, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hallo Trinitrix, ich habe im help desk nachgefragt, er hat vorgeschlagen dein Bild runterzuladen, zu verändern und dann hochzuladen, wahrscheinlich ist 1927 zu jung. Ich habe keine Ahnung wie das mit den Angaben auf die Fragen nach "eigenem Werk" gehen soll. Dein Name und verändert von mir? Das Bild sollte einen anderen Namen für den File erhalten, evt. Hallo Trinitrix, ich habe dein Bild ergänzt durch einen Vertikal-Vorsatz und mit einer entsprechenden Software von Wiki hochgeladen. File: TrajanusVert.xcf / Du wirst dort als Urheber des Ursprungsbildes genannt.
Du hast einige Bilder unter verschieden Kategorien von Liesegang eingeordnet. Mein Vorschag: unter "Projectors" sind verschiedene Arten von Projektoren (noch nicht alle) aufgeführt, andererseits gibt es dort zusätzlich Kategorien von Herstellern. Du oder ich sollten dort eine weitere Category "Liesegang projectors" anbringen. Der Diaprojektor "Fanti" würde dann einerseits unter "Slide projectors" genannt und gleichzeitig unter "Liesegang projectors". Liesegang hat sich fast immer mit der Wiedergabe, also Projektoren beschäftigt (ein Lesegerät ist auch ein Projektor, im Gegensatz zu einem Betrachter) daher sind die Produkte von Liesegang "Projektoren". Die Kategorien "Ed. Liesegang products" und "Ed. Liesegang OHG product" könnten entfallen. Ich würde unter Wiki media im Gegensatz zu Wiki pedia keinen Unterschied zwischen Liesegang und Liesegang OHG machen. Wie ist deine Meinung dazu? Hallo Trinitrix, was ist der Grund für die Annahme, die Objektive wurden von Liesegang in Düsseldorf hergestellt? Bis auf ganz wenige Ausnahmen wurden bis etwa 2000 alle Liesegang-Geräte in Düsseldorf hergestellt. Bei optischen Bauteilen scheint es dagegen nicht so zu sein. Ich kann aber nicht sagen, wer zu welchem genauen Zeitpunkt dieses Objektiv gerade hergestellt hat. Grüße--Bomas13 (talk) 19:43, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Liesegang war ursprünglich in Wuppertal und ist später nach Düsseldorf umgezogen. Es gab nur eine Fertigungsstätte in Düsseldorf, die aber während des Krieges kurz ausgelagert wurde. Die Fertigung war auf der Volmerswerther Str. 21. Bei Liesegang wurden kein Glas bearbeitet und auch das Patrinast wurde von verschiedenen Herstellern bezogen. Statt hergestellt "bei Liesegang" evt. "hergestellt für Liesegang" ändern. (Wenn du möchtest ändere ich den Text? Grüße--Bomas13 (talk) 14:36, 15 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Category "Projectors" überarbeiten edit

Hallo Trinitrix, auf der "Vorschlagsseite der aktuell diskutierten Kategorien" wird um Vorschläge und Wünsche gebeten, was geändert werden soll. Ich habe dort geschrieben, das von den unterschiedlichen Kategorien Liesegang einiges zusammengefasst werden sollte. Es könnte hier nur "Liesegang" und nicht unterschieden werden von "Ed. Liesegang" / "Liesegang OHG" usw. Alle Produkte unter "Liesegang projectors", evt. auch unter "Liesegang products", denn es wurden auch Kameras 1930? oder Papiere 1900?? hergestellt. Mir würde "Liesegang projectors" reichen, da ich noch keine Möglichkeit sehe, von nicht Projektoren an freie Bilder zu kommen. Grüße--Bomas13 (talk) 20:14, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hallo Trinitrix, können wir die Category "Ed. Liesegang slide projectors" und "Ed. Liesegang OHG product" löschen, oder löschen lassen? Die Category "Ed. Liesegang products" sollte reichen. Noch besser wäre, wenn die Category "Liesegang products" genannt würde. Dann könnten alle Produkte in eine Category, ältere und neuere Produkte.Grüße--Bomas13 (talk) 21:01, 7 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
