You picture of salt evaporation pond?Edit

Greetings,

I am Howard Perlman, a hydrologist with the US Geological Survey. I run a site Water Science for Schools (http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/). I am currently doing a major upgrade and am looking for a picture of an evaporation pond for getting salt.

I was looking for good pictures and I found your picture at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:MaraisSalant.JPG

So, I want to ask for your permission to use the picture in my new site. I certainly would provide a credit to your site and could add a link to your page, if you wanted it. So, please let me know if this is acceptable or not.

My Communications people (who are VERY strict about this kind of thing) here have been saying I need to get your written (email, I guess) permission to use your picture on my site.

So, please let me know if you would allow me to use your picture. We are a Gov't agency, so we're not commercial.

Okay, thanks, Howard Perlman hperlman@usgs.gov USGS

Using and remixing a photo of yourEdit

Hello PHGCOM,

First, I want to say I'm not perfect in english so I'll try my best to write this message without trouble. Plus, I don't know a lot of things about copyright, so... here is it :

I'd like to ask your permission to use and remix your picture of the Pazuzu statue for an artistic and, for the moment, free purpose. One of my work in 2010 was based on The Exorcist, and I recently worked on an unedited picture to complete the project, with the statue incorporated in that picture.

If it's ok with you, well thank you. But if you're against it, just tell me and I will take it off my website. I've already put the picture there with a link to the wiki page of the picture (but to be honest, I don't really know how to appropriately attribute the work.)

Thank you!

File:Aghlabids_Tunisia_880_CE.jpgEdit

Dear PGHCOM,

Sorry to say this coin is neither Aghlabid nor was it struck in 880 CE. It's a dinar from Misr (Egypt) of the year 267 AH, therefore struck under Ahmad ibn Tulun of the Tulunid dynasty. It is all there in the Arabic inscription, as anyone versed in Kufic epigraphy will tell you. Therefore, for the sake of the article's accuracy, I shall be removing it from the "Aghlabids" article and replacing it with a more suitable image of a coin actually struck under the Aghlabids.

Best, People's Commie-Tsar

Coin of CunobelinEdit

Hi,

I would like to use your image Bronze coins of Cunobelin 1 to 42 CE for the article |Camulodunum on the English wikipedia, as the coin depicts not only one of Camulodunum's most important Celtic chief but also the inscription CAMV, which refers to the town. Would that be possible?

Thanks,
