Summary edit
Description |
English: "Serb Macedonian commanders in Skoplje, 1908" (Српске Маћедонске војводе – у Скопљу, 1908. године).[1] The photograph, of commanders and some of the more distinguished soldiers of the Serbian Chetnik Organization, was taken during the Young Turk Revolution, when they left the mountains and recognized the new constitution.[2] The individuals are wearing "Chetnik gear" – various traditional regional clothing, armed with Mauser-Koka and Berdan rifles. The flag has a cross and the Serbian Cyrillic inscription "Long live freedom" (Живела слобода/Živela sloboda).
