Władysław Sikorski

Polish military and political leader (1881-1943)
English: Władysław Eugeniusz Sikorski (May 1881 — 4 July 1943) was a Polish military and political leader. During World War II in June 1940 he became Prime Minister of the Polish Government in Exile, Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, and a staunch advocate of the Polish cause on the diplomatic scene. The Polish Government in Exile had its headquarters in Newark, England. Władysław Sikorski is born in Tuszów Narodowy near Mielec (in the Austrian zone of partitioned Poland), Galicia into the family of a parish organ player.
