Air Force One is the air traffic control callsign of any United States Air Force plane carrying the President of the United States. The same rule applies to Navy One, Marine One, Army One and other military subcommand units. If the President is on board a civil aircraft then its callsign is changed to Executive One. Today the USAF operates two Boeing VC-25A, itself customized aircraft based on the Boeing 747-200B airliner, to serve as Air Force One.
