Alexander Stepanovich Popov

Russian physicist
English: Alexander Stepanovich Popov (Александр Степанович Попов; March 4 1859 – December 31 1905) was a Russian physicist who demonstrated a radio wave receiver (that recorded lightning strikes) on 7 May 1895 and sent a message with a spark-gap transmitter and receiver on 24 March 1896, making him an early (some claim the first) radio telegraphy experimenter.
