English: 27 Bank Street between State and Golden Streets in New London, Connecticut is a building under renovation. A sign on the building says "Metropolitan Hotel", but it is unclear if that was the name of the building when it was constructed, or if the renovation is designed to convert it into a hotel. As of June 2022, two-thirds of the windows are covered with silhouettes which resemble characters from the books of Dr. Seuss, such as The Cat in the Hat and the Lorax (with truffula trees). Inside the empty windows can bee seen other silhouette drawings which have been removed. The building is located in the Downtown New London Historic District.
