"The Gramercy" at 34 Gramercy Park (East), was one of the first apartment buildings in New York City. It was built in 1883 in French Second Empire as adapted by Richard Morris Hunt. The building, which was originally the Gramercy Park Hotel (no relation to the current hotel by that name) was designed by George W. de Cunha (Source: 'WPA Guide to NYC, AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.))
