Category:48 Carey Street, London

English: This block, bounded on two sides by Carey Street, and by Portugal and Serle Streets, was originally home to a number of tenements. The block was divided by Cook's Court, which ran from Serle Street to Carey Street and had more tenements on both sides. All of these tenements were demolished in 1878 to make way for a full block building called New Court. That building, in turn, was demolished in 1965 and replaced with a 1968 office building which we see pictured in 2008. This building has since been demolished in 2015, with a new building completed here in 2019, which is now called Lincoln Square.
