Category:79th Medical Wing (United States Air Force)
The 79th Medical Wing was first organized in 1955 as the 79th USAF Infirmary. It has a long history of expansion and name change. Most recently, on June 16, 2017, it was made a group if the 11th Wing and its name was changed to the 11th Medical Group. The names of all its units have changed or will change, but these categories are not yet reflected in Commons, which categorizes the old structure. The details also are not always published on the Internet. The 79th Wing was tenanted at Joint Base Andrews and also Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, both of which service the Washington, D. C. area and the Federal Government.
