English: The abbey of St. Mary de Petra in Kilmacduagh was founded as house of Augustinian canons by the local chieftain Owen O'Heyne c. 1225–1250. It is commonly called O'Heyne's monastery after its founder. The monastery was dissolved c. 1562, the canons appear to have left in 1584. See p. 183 in Aubrey Gwynn and R.
