History

Affondatore underwent some modifications between 1867 and 1873 as the replacement of the three masts with a single and the construction of the navigation bridge. The Affondatore participated in the Battle of Lissa as flagship of the admiral Carlo di Persano. Affondatore was decommissioned on October 11, 1907.
