English: Akita Castle (Akita-no-ki or Akita-jō) is a castle in Akita, Akita prefecture, Japan. It had been during the Nara period to Heian period, and located the government office of Dewa area (northwest area of Tohoku Region) on the latter half of the 8th century. The castle existed until the latter half of the 11th century.
