Category:Al Rastan sarcophagus

English: The Al Rastan sarcophagus. The name refers to where it was found. The front represents a battle. From a German contribution I understand it to be the batlle between Greek and Trojan warriors at the ships at Troy. The back has animals from another culture, i.e. sphinxes. The sarcophagus is Attic from 240-250 AD. It should not be confused with another Attic sarcophagus from Al Rastan, i.e. Meleager's boar hunt.
