The history of the former Alderman Blaxill School in Colchester, Essex, England, is not straightforward. A World War I military hospital was housed in Hamilton Road Central School, Colchester, which was built in 1914 and opened as a school in 1920, then became a secondary modern school in 1944. In 1955 the school moved to Walnut Tree Way, Colchester and was renamed Alderman Blaxill Secondary Modern School. In 1976 it became a comprehensive school. It closed in 2014 after becoming an academy, and was demolished in 2017. The original Hamilton Road building still exists as a primary school.
