The American Motor League ("AML") was the first automobile organization in the United States. Founded in 1895 as a lobby organization for the "horseless carriages", it was the brainchild of en:Charles Brady King, and had many automobile pioneers on its roster. AML merged in 1904 with the en:American Automobile Association to form the American Automobile Association "AAA"), newly formed in 1902.[3] In 1904 the AML merged with the AAA to become the American Motor Association.
