Category:Antonine Fountain in Sagalassos

A nymphaeum was built by Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD), at the north side of the Upper Agora. Please do not put every picture containing it in this category, but reserve it for pictures with (most of) the fountain only, and its details. The fountain is of the “audiculae” type, where roofed chapels called aediculae are varied with niches. It developed as a type in the east under Augustus. The style was probably first used in theatre buildings, then city gates, then fountains.
