This category groups media relating to the precession of apsides, the rotation of the long axis of an elliptical orbit of two bodies about one another in celestial mechanics. This precession occurs in two-body orbits whenever the two bodies feel forces besides Newton's inverse square law of gravitation (such as the gravity of other bodies), or when Einstein's more accurate general relativity theory is used to model gravity.
