Archontophoenix alexandrae, the Alexandra palm, is a small palm self-establishing in the watercourses of 7th Brigade Park. Native to North Queensland it is a popularly grown ornamental. The red fruits are consumed by frugivorous birds and by fruit bats (Pteropus spp.) and the seeds are then widely dispersed.
