The Arena Civica “Gianni Brera” is a neo-classical outdoor arena in Milan built by Luigi Canonica in 1807, that later became a multisports venue. It hosted in 1910 the first ever match of the Italy football national team and later in 1930 the first home match of the Italy rugby union national team. Lately it hosted also the home matches of Amatori Rugby Milano, a major Italian team that won 18 domestic titles. It was named in 2002 after Gianni Brera, a sports journalist who lived and acted in Milan.
