ASI monument Ariyannur Umbrellas are megalithic era monuments near Thrissur in Kerala, notable for their "stones shaped like umbrellas" called Kudakkal. It is a prehistoric pre-historic burial site made from laterite stone.
The Kudakkal mushroom-like stone architecture differentiates them from Topikkal which are hemispherical "hat stones" that form the lid of a burial urn. Similarly, they differ from Pathikal which are many laterite blocks stacked/placed over a burial site in a shape of a hood.
The Ariyannur Umbrellas site has both Kuddakkal and Pathikkal monuments.
