- BBC Indian Sportswomen of the Year is an award program run by BBC annually. The winner will be chosen by a group of journalists, experts and editors. The award started in 2020.The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is a public service broadcaster in the United Kingdom.
- Apart from the award, this year, BBC India is collaborating with the Wikimedia community to create articles of Indian sportswomen in various Indic languages. The edit-a-thon is organized by BBC India on 18 February 2021. Journalism students from across India will creating/expanding Wikipedia articles of 50 sportswomen in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Punjabi and Gujarati, along with a some in English. These articles will be reviewed by Wikipedians from respective communities before the date of the edit-a-thon. Community reviewers will also be conducting introduction sessions to respective language Wikipedians to students.
