About 200 meters south of the cathedral stands a baptistery. It was built slightly after the cathedral itself. It has an octagonal drum topping a square base, with in its chamber a walk-through "font". To the south(west) of the octagonal baptisterium proper there is, separated by a corridor, a basilica.
