Italiano: La cosiddetta "Cisterna basilica" (Yerebatan Sarayı) è un enorme serbatoio d'acqua di epoca bizantina costruita spogliando monumenti greci e romani delle loro colonne, per costruire un immenso spazio vuoto sotterraneo, sostenuto appunto da una foresta di colonne. Oggi la cisterna ha solo una funzione turistica.
