Category:Bill Williams Mountain Restoration Tribal Stakeholders Field Trip 2018

Bill Williams Mountain, just south of the town of Williams, Arizona, is a sacred place to several Native American tribes and many of the plants and resources found on the mountain are important to tribes’ ongoing traditional and cultural practices. The Kaibab National Forest works closely with tribes to protect and restore the mountain and provide access to these important resources.

The Kaibab National Forest conducted field visits with representatives from the Havasupai, Hopi and Hualapai tribes, and the Pueblo of Zuni, to monitor restoration treatments on the mountain and solicit comments, and recommendations from tribal partners.
