English: Blenheim was a iron full-rigged ship built 1877 by Alexander Stephen & Sons Glasgow, Yard No 205 for the New Zealand Shipping Co Ltd. (Registered at London) with the originally name Wanganui. Dimensions were; length × beam: 215.3 × 34 ft (65.6 × 10.3 m) and Tonnage; 1136 GRT, 1077 NRT. 1881 registry transferred to Lyttelton, New Zealand. 1888 sold to J leslie, W Savill, W Shirres, and JW Temple, renamed Blenheim and registered at Aberdeen. 1903 sold to Akt Blenheim, Sandefjord. 1904 the ship was re-rigged to a barque. 1917 torpedoed and sunk by U50 30 miles SSW of Fastnet, bound Pensacola to Greenock with pitch pine.[1][2] ID: 588880976[3]
