English: D6971 entered service with British Rail in March 1965. It was renumbered 37271 in March 1974 then rebuilt and renumbered 37418 in November 1985. It carried the Gaelic name An Comunn Gaidhealach from October 1986 until 1991 when it was given the Latin name Pectinidae. For a short while in 1992 it carried the name Gordon Grigg and then in 1994 it was given the name East Lancashire railway which it carried until October 2000.
