English: This building in Detroit, Michigan was built in 1828 and was first the Territorial Courthouse, then the first Michigan State Capitol until 1847. In 1848 it became a school, eventually called the Capitol Union School, and also Capitol High School starting in 1863. An expansion in 1875 changed the look of the building. The building caught fire on January 27, 1893 and was destroyed; the site then became Capitol Park.
