English: The Cascade Inn was a famous hotel in Shawinigan, Quebec. It was built by the Shawinigan Water & Power Company (SW&P) in 1900, on a small hill near the center of the town, after plans by architect David Robertson Brown, in Neo Tudor style. The building was considerably enlarged in 1919 and in 1929. With the nationalization of the SW&P in 1963, it became the property of the State-owned society Hydro Quebec. Hydro Quebec sold the hotel to private interests in 1969. The commerce closed around 1975. The building was left abandoned. It was destroyed by fire in 1986. Ref.: p. 55, p. 44.

Français : Le Cascade Inn, ou auberge Cascade, était un hôtel célèbre, situé à Shawinigan, au Québec. Il avait été construit par la société Shawinigan Water & Power (SW&P) en 1900 sur une colline près du centre de la ville, selon des plans de l'architecte David Robertson Brown, dans un style néo-Tudor. Il a été considérablement agrandi en 1919 et en 1929. Avec la nationalisation de la SW&P en 1963, l'hôtel, comme tous les actifs de cette société, devint propriété de la société d'État Hydro-Québec. Celle-ci revendit l'hôtel à des intérêts privés en 1969. Les commerces d'hôtellerie et de restauration cessèrent leurs activités vers 1975. Le bâtiment alors abandonné subit des dégradations.
