In late April of 2012, and March of 2015, the circus company Cavalia started erecting circus tents on the seven acre parcel of vacant land between Cherry Street, Toronto, Lakeshore Boulevard, Toronto and the Keating Channel, Toronto. Ironically, the big circus tent is being erected on the former site of a large squatter's camp known as "tent city".
