English: The Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, in Bundoran, County Donegal, was built in 1857–59 and dedicated on 15 August 1859 (at that time as St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception). Various improvements including the marble altar and the altar rail were added in 1904 under the direction of the Dublin architect Thomas Francis McNamara. The spire was lengthened in 1908–1910, also under supervision by Thomas Francis McNamara. In 1975 canted entrance porches were added and the interior reordered. In 2008 a chapel was added behind the north transept after designs by the architect Tom Mullarkey Pedersen. The church was rededicated to Our Lady, Star of the Sea, on 16 August 2009. (See DIA record and NIAH description.)
