English: Clonenagh Church was built in the 16th century. In the 17th century, it was converted to a Protestant parish church of the Diocese of Leighlin. It continued to be used at least to the end of the 18th century. (See entry 713 in P. David Sweetman et al: Archaeological Inventory of County Laois, ISBN 0-7076-1631-X.)
