Category:Compañía de Salitres y Ferrocarril de Antofagasta

English: Compañía de Salitres y Ferrocarril de Antofagasta (CSFA, Spanish for "Antofagasta Nitrate and Railway Company") was a Chilean Public limited company with a majority of Chilean share capital registered in Valparaíso that exploited railroads and nitrate deposits in Bolivia since 1873. It was in the middle of a diplomatic conundrum of insurmountable proportions that lead to the War of the Pacific in 1879. In 1925 the CSFA was sold to an US-American Lautaro Nitrate Company.[1]
