English: Cottage City built 1890, New England Ship Building Co., Bath, Maine. Operated until 1897 by the Maine Steamship Line, then sold to the Pacific Coast Steamship Co., which operated it between Seattle and Alaska.

The ship ran aground on Island Point, Etolin Island September 7, 1902 and lost part of its keel, but was successfully rescued and restored to service.

It finally foundered on the reef at Cape Mudge, Quadra Island, off the east coast of Vancouver Island, January 26, 1911 while en route from Seattle to Skagway; no fatalities.
