The Demon Trail is name of the part of the Hollyford Track from the Alabaster Hut
along the Pyke River to the Lake McKerrow Island Hut
and then along all the Lake McKerrow (māori: Whakatipu Waitai}
via the Demon Trail Hut to the Hokuri Hut at Hokuri River.
While in the past century almost no bridges had been there, or just a few very simple ones, the track is now very well equipped with enough bridges.
Nevertheless the track (or trail) itself can be difficult, with deep mudholes after rain.
